Service Notices

2006-10-12: We restarted the server at ~13:00 UTC to update the server configuration.

2006-10-09: Over the past few days we've had some trouble with server-to-server communications and with server stability. We have applied some configuration fixes for s2s and an Erlang patch for the stability issues.

2006-09-29: We restarted the server around midnight Eastern time (04:00 UTC on 2006-09-30) to put some configuration changes into effect.

2006-09-22: Sorry, we had a major outage because of API changes between ejabberd 1.0.0 and 1.1.1 (our modified scripts did not work with 1.1.1, the fault lies with the jabber.org admin team and not the ejabberd developer team).

2006-09-17: We upgraded to a new version of ejabberd and configured a 500K size limit on packets sent through the jabber.org server.

2006-06-20: We removed chatroom logs for rooms that were not active in 100+ days (since the upgrade to ejabberd on 2006-02-27). Before that, public room logging was on by default at conference.jabber.org -- since then it has been off by default. If you want your room to be publicly logged, configure the room appropriately; if not, don't change the default room configuration.

2006-05-15: We installed a new SSL/TLS certificate for secure communications with the jabber.org XMPP server. The certificate is issued by CAcert, so make sure you download CAcert's root certificate and place it in your trust chain.
