Make the stars dance

January 22, 2012 – 3:54 pm

Hey there, Seven Days! Look who’s finally risen (again) from the ashes? She also picks the best day to update – the day before Spring Semester starts. Does she have perfect timing or what?

Kidding aside, lack of activity was mostly due to school and well, the usual habit of staying silent until she can’t take it anymore, lol. I love blogging, mind you. It’s one of the first online activities that really kept me going. I’ve been doing it since 2004 and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. Just that, I suppose I don’t really have that much drive these days what with worrying about school among other things. *laughs* My coping mechanism is usually drowning myself in fiction *coughs*specificallysasusakuones*cough* Lately, I’d end up reading the ones I follow via phone so I’m on bed and off いちる, haha.

Therefore it’s no brainer what I usually did during Winter Break. I wasn’t as productive as I wanted to be but at least I managed to do something like the opening of The Vanilla Lace Studio for example! So glad to finally have this up. Now, I only have to worry about my BL collective and revamp Sakuchi and domain-wise, I’d be okay.

I also updated my contact page with a new email. I’ll be slowly switching from my previous one c@dd.org to this one. But if you prefer to stick with said email, that’s fine too. I wont be deleting that address anyway. (:

I recently picked up Macross Frontier after watching the first episode more than a year ago (yes, I’m awesome like that) and I’m insanely hooked though I’m holding out on the last three episodes until I somehow manage to see a copy of the first movie. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Sheryl and May’n. They’re AWESOME. Oh and of course, Alto x Sheryl too. I’ve heard a lot of ‘controversies’ regarding the series with the supposedly love ‘triangle,’ but really. After seeing it, I can’t say that there was anything remotely romantic on Alto’s side in regards to Ranka. I wont go as far as to say that he didn’t love her – there are different shades of love after all – because he genuinely cared but as far as I can see, it wasn’t on a romantic level.

My ship was made prominent early on when the trio got stuck in that pod (?) and Sheryl refused to just stay put and not do anything, igniting a flame within Alto in the process. When someone inspires you to move, that’s just really… something. (I’m a sucker for these type of things.) She’s not the damsel in distress and he isn’t the knight in shining armor. They’re far from being perfect and both hold a mask in front of others but together, they’re just themselves – simply Alto and Sheryl.

I’m just really lol’ing hard at bashings I’ve come across regarding Sheryl or Alto/Sheryl. The birthday episode highlighted a part of the girls’ understanding / connection with Alto, yes? Whereas Sheryl offered the sky – his dreams, Ranka offered her own concert tickets. Yeeeeep.

Wake me up when September ends

September 30, 2011 – 10:20 pm

It’s been a while hasn’t it? I initially wanted to post before August ended with a semi-review regarding Hanasakeru Seishounen, which I finished watching in two days. And not full days at that. LMAO. It’s something considering that the series spanned 39 episodes and me watching them in a row until completion is not something I usually do; 10 episodes max a day (anime-wise) for me. (The only exception I believe was Skip Beat but that’s more because I read the manga first, lawl.) I enjoyed it very much despite the slow spacing at times. Or maybe more but I’m a pretty patient person so. . .

It’s definitely worth a try for those who haven’t seen it. While it’s under ‘shoujo,’ there really isn’t too much of it except maybe towards the end. What I enjoyed the most were the characters’ development and their relationship with each other. Then there’s the political intrigue that sets the central issue of the story. Don’t let the tidbit of hubby hunting discourage you though. I’ve seen a lot of people bash the heroine but I find their basis unfair given her circumstances. :c Anyway, out of the four guys, I really loved Eugene the most with Lumati coming close. Eugene just breaks my heart and I just want to hold him tight and never let go ;//; Maybe I’ll dedicate an entire post to him later, lol. If this were an otome game, I’d do his route in a heart beat. Unfortunately, it isn’t. (ノ_・。)

Classes began on the last full week of August and I’ve been swamped with assignments since. The work only continues to pile. *laughs* I can’t wait until the end, lol. I’m hoping I do well this time around compared to my previous semesters. (u_u) *crosses fingers* Currently, I’m not doing too well on my French class but I hope I can turn it around asap. (*´д`*)

Can’t believe that in a few hours, it’ll be October already, which also means that after five days, I wont be considered a teen anymore. (つд`) I suppose at one point, it shouldn’t really matter since I’m still mistaken as a high schooler most of the time but yeaah. Will miss being a teen, haha. /shots Somehow, the year seemed like it went by so fast.

Uta no Prince-sama: Bringing Sexy Back

August 17, 2011 – 1:11 am

spacer Shinomiya Natsuki (Satsuki) in his Orion de SHOUT OUT performance (ep. 6)

If there was any panty dropping episode in UtaPuri, I think episode 6 might just be it, lol. (And no, please don’t take that statement seriously.) But really now. From the least favored character amongst friends (least used loosely here since everyone is lovable in his own way), Natsuki’s Satsuki’s swagger and smexiness just skyrocketed, beating Ren and Tokiya in that department, LMFAO. (At least, in this episode.) While Natsuki ranks ‘lowest’ in my book, it’s mostly because of his . . . scary tendencies behind those uber sweet smiles. *laughs* (Though for the most part, his actions are for comedic purposes so. . .) But I must confess that I do have an odd fascination towards the ~crazies~.

Of all the songs the characters have performed, I think Orion de SHOUT OUT tops all of them. It’s my favorite song thus far. It’s just so perfect and so intense. It may or may not also have something to do with the J-rock(ish) tones, haha. While I do love them ballads, sad love songs and what have you, there’s just something about rock’s intensity that really pulls one in. And c’mon. Who can resist Satsuki? Hmmmm? Him pulling off his coat (?) is just asdkljalsdjl too much, haha. Taniyama Kishou is just . . . *swoons*

This episode really did a lot on me. I’ve always loved Natsuki’s hairstyle (soft, wavy hair *////*) and him wet from the rain, his song and performance are enough to keep my squealing for a while, haha. Can’t wait for the full version to come out. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t be out until next week. *sobs*
