Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

The Park’s Finest focuses on mobile-catering for small, medium, and large scale private events. We bring the food to you. We can also cook on-site.

While we do not have a sit-down location at this point in time, we have plans to open a restaurant in the future. To be notified when we open up shop or for updates on special deals that we offer and places where you can purchase plates, please fill out our contact form under the “Contact Us” link on the website at www.theparksfinest.com.

How do I order?

Please log onto www.theparksfinest.com to access our menu under the link “Catering Trays”. This menu will guide you to help determine what you need for your party with descriptions of costs and the number of people each size tray can feed. When you’re ready to place your order, you can access the shopping cart by clicking the link under “Order Now”. The shopping cart will calculate the total cost of your order with tax included.

You can also find a booking request form under the “Party Booking” link. This helps us to pencil in dates to our calendar. Please be as thorough as possible regarding your party’s needs.

Do you offer small sample trays?

We are able to offer sample trays as a courtesy to customers who are planning to place catering orders. Our ability to accommodate sample trays is dependent on our time and availability to bring the samples to you. Please contact us to arrange a mutually convenient time. We do our best to coordinate with new customers.

Where can I just get a plate?

There are multiple community events that we support where you can get a single serving. What it may cost you will vary. At some community events such as festivals, we sell individual plates and charge our standard combo plate rate. At other community events where we drop off food, organizers of respective events coordinate the prices themselves to raise money in support of their programming. Please check our website and follow us on Twitter to stay up to date about these opportunities.

Who are you guys?

We are locals from the last bastion of 213, in Downtown Los Angeles, Echo Park, Historic Filipinotown. Before this area became a hip spot, we’ve gone to school, played in park leagues, and raised families in the neighborhood. We’ve always worked to improve and push the limits of the “backyard boogie”. We are immersed and connected with the City of Los Angeles and strive to show folks that LA is not full of fakes, but is blessed with a vibrant, multi-ethnic immigrant culture that has thrived and grown together. Our food reflects that flavor.

We were the knuckleheads who grew up through an ultra-violent time, that the community as a whole embraced and took care of. Now we try to repay the favor by giving the best food that we can possibly provide at the most reasonable and fair prices.

How far in advance should we order?

We fill our capacity fast so we ask that orders be placed 2 weeks in advance of your event.

Do you take orders on short notice?

We do make exceptions if it coincides with orders that we will be doing around the same time as your party. We will help you to determine your menu options and price based on your party’s needs and what food we will have available at that time.

What are your minimum rates?

For deliveries, there are minimum rates for weekday orders and weekend orders. If your event is on a weekend, the total order must be at least $300. If your event is on a weekday, the order must total at least $500.

For on-site catering, the order must total at least $3,000. There will also be an hourly service charge. On-site catering entails staffing from The Park’s Finest who will come to your event to serve your guests and cook on-site. Additionally, in order to have The Park’s Finest cater on-site at your event, access to electricity and a water source is required.

I need help in figuring out how much to order. How many people does this feed?

A “Lola Tray” is good for 15-20 portions, while a “Lolo Tray” can take care of 35-40 folks.

The general rule of thumb for a spread good enough for 40 people consists of 3 Lolo Tray meat selections, veggies, and a tray of cornbread bibingka. If your folks are really hungry, you can always add more meat selections and cornbread bibingka.
