What exactly is RABMAD? Well, other than being a semi-cool (and not completely forgettable) acronym, RABMAD stands for Read a Book, Make a Difference. Shortening the name helps in a lot of ways: number of characters typed to arrive here, space on bumper stickers, etc. (For the record, you can also get here the intuitive, long-hand way—www.ReadABookMakeADifference.com)
RABMAD is the brainchild of author R.S. Guthrie. The concept is not new, however. Giving back. Returning success to the people.
Writers making a difference.
The concept is simple. Most avid readers are going to purchase another book. Why not give them an additional option of supporting some up and coming writers, knowing that in doing so, their hard-earned dollars not only get them a great read, but will also help someone in need with their plight?
That is what RABMAD is all about. Promoting authors who are giving back from the sales of their books. Writers who give a percentage of their net proceeds to their own chosen cause, non-profit, or charity.
What you will find on this site is an ever-growing portfolio of talented writers who care. You will be able to browse their bios, their books, and their causes. RABMAD will link you to their author websites, Amazon pages, twitter following, and other author-related places.
Standard Disclaimer: RABMAD is in no way tied to any of the non-profits, causes, charities, etc. that may be listed here on individual author pages. Neither does any money flow to, from, or through RABMAD itself. This is a free service; a place for authors to be recognized and their causes promoted!
Warm regards to you, dear reader, from RABMAD and the portfolio of authors showcased here. We sincerely hope you enjoy your visits! (And please, tell a friend!)

Great idea! Let me know what I can do to help.
I think this is a great initiative for aspiring writers of all abilities and genres. My own writing site – The Rattlebag is somewhere I can leave a variety of poems, short stories and essays in the hope someone will pop by for a read.
Too many books today are written mainly for-profit and to put the Author on a pedestal.
It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to write on a purpose without a guarantee of any results at all. My vision for my new book is to eradicate Seniors Poverty by empowering Seniors(50 Plus) to become business OR social entrepreneurs in their retirement life. The focus is trying to get Seniors to be more active, creative, productive and useful in Society when the World treats Seniors as being neglected, unimportant, socially discountable and economically insignificant.
