Surface and Textile designer, Titi Abiola carried out her foundation studies at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, one of the world’s foremost design colleges.

Specialising in Stitch during her undergraduate studies at Chelsea College of Art and design, Abiola continued and evolved her exploration of surface design during her Master’s degree in Textile Futures at Central Saint Martins.

Abiola enjoys working across the boundaries of art and design, never leaving behind her formative training in Fine Art. Her interest and skills in fashion design and accessories were cultivated during her studies at Polimoda, Italy. Training at Jimmy Choo Couture and Alexander McQueen allowed Abiola to further fine-tune her craft.

Enjoying interdisciplinary and collaborative projects, there is an element of risk taking to Abiola’s work.

Travel has heightened the designer’s knowledge of different practices, at times lending an esoteric nature to her products. Traditional craft, the foundation of Abiola’s work, is translated using modern processes and new approaches. She uses traditional and unconventional stitch surfaces varying from wood to Technogel,TM a soft solid material. Among International exhibitions, Abiola’s work has been displayed at the esteemed Wallace Collection, London.
