The MAZER CUP, was started by Ken Schramm, Dan McConnell and Mike O'Brien and quickly became the de-facto standard for mead competitions in North America and set the standard for all of the mead-only competitions that followed.

The Mazer Cup International 2009, 2010 and 2011 competitions were a great success and the Board Members are looking forward to another great event in 2012. With continued support from from the Mazer Cup founding fathers, Gotmead.Com is excited about sponsoring the Mazer Cup International 2012. We will do our best to refine, enhance and improve the Mazer Cup International Event in order to make it enjoyable, well run and a credit to enthusiast and professional meadmakers around the world. We are committed to making the Mazer Cup International the premiere mead event in the world and to attracting the best meadmakers, judges and event staff we can recuit locally and internationally.

The Mazer Cup International hand-crafted award mazers will again be unique and collectible in 2012 thanks to Perri who is the creative mind behind our classic mazer designs. Our classic medals for the Meadery Competition are a coveted award for professional meadmakers around the world.

NOTICE: There will be NO PUBLIC EVENTS in 2012

Unfortunately this is a competition year only and no public tastings or other public events will be hosted. The awards ceremony will be by ticket admittance only and will be very limited due to the size of the room and public fire code. Public events will return in 2013 once the MCI has completed our incorporation efforts.

The competitions will be held in Boulder, Colorado at the Boulder Outlook Hotel March 2-3, 2012.

We are organizing our judging team, support staff, and will be contacting those who have helped with the Mazer Cup International in the past. There will be Meadery and Home mead competitions again in 2012 and as always we remain committed to producing a world-class competition for international mead enthusiasts and professionals.
