Editing Services

Every writer needs an editor. An editor is that objective set of eyes that provides clarity, consistency, and cohesiveness to your work; ensures proper pacing and flow; and eliminates errors in grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Book writers, professors and graduate students, high school and college students, publishers, and business owners, Wordhelper is here for you.

Manuscript Editing

Whether you have the next bestseller or aim for a smaller audience, write fiction or nonfiction, or target adults or children, we can make your words connect with your readers.

We are happy to do a free sample edit of up to 1,000 words from your Microsoft Word manuscript. This will allow you to assess the quality of our work, and if you provide the word count for your full manuscript, we can quote you a fee. (Microsoft Word has a feature that will count the words for you; you don’t have to count them yourself. If you don’t know how to do that, contact us, and we’ll explain how.)

Academic Editing

Dissertations, theses, grant proposals, and articles for peer-reviewed, professional journals have rules of their own. Some call for APA style, others demand the use of AMA guidelines, and still others have an in-house style guide. We can comply with any of them. From the abstracts to the headed sections, from statistical material to references, we’ve handled it all.

We may go back and forth a few times, but in the end, we’ll make sure your dissertation, thesis, article, or grant proposal is ready for submission to your graduate committee, industry journal of choice, or grant agency.

Business Editing

You’ve heard that old saying: You never get a second chance to make a first impression. Many times, first impressions are formed from the copy on your website or in a marketing letter, newsletter, or brochure.

Don’t you want the first impression that prospects and clients have of you and your business to be outstanding? We can make that happen. Let’s talk about perfecting your copy.

Student Services

College and graduate/professional school admissions officers read thousands of application essays, so let us help you make your essay stand out. (Yes, we’re talking to students here, not their parents.)

We won’t write your essay for you, but we’ll guide you through the process of writing an opening hook that reels in the reader, show you how to provide smooth transitions between paragraphs, and ensure that you clearly and thoroughly answer the prompt. You’ll also have an essay that is free of errors in grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

Haven’t started writing yet? We’re great at helping you brainstorm.

Just don’t wait until the last minute. Consultations for essay help must be made at least a week in advance.

Wordhelper is also available for student workshops.
