In our fast-paced world it is always helpful to have signs to navigate, to give us direction, to help us find our way. Our library is ready to point people of all ages in the right direction whether they walk in through the door or connect online. Our award-winning Blue Ribbon Library has something for everyone, whether it's the children's story time, the Page Turner's book club, computer classes or online homework help. Our friendly staff is ready to help take you where you want to go!
The Pelham Public Library offers programs to excite, entertain and inform all ages. For adults the fun and learning never stops. In addition to free computer classes and monthly meetings of Page Turners book club and the knitting club, there are special programs throughout the year. In the past, there have been classes about gardening, fashion, history, yoga and even belly dancing, to name just a few. The Library has also been fortunate to have well-known authors and entertainers speak. Storyteller Dolores Hydock and musical guest Bobby Horton have performed for packed crowds. In addition, New York Times Best selling authors Rick Bragg, Daniel Wallace and Cassandra King have read from and discussed their works here. The Library is so much more than a place to get information for school assignments. The Teen Department offers video game tournaments, movie nights and summer reading contests. Always on the lookout to find new and fun activities and programs, the Teen Department is not only a place to satisfy reading interests, but also a recreational destination. The Childrens Department is always planning great programs for children. Each week, there are preschool story times perfect for even the youngest children. More than just reading a book, story time incorporates songs, movement, finger plays, stories as well as a snack and a craft. Every summer, the Library hosts an exciting Summer Reading Program jam-packed with jugglers, music, magic, crafts, movies and tons of great books for preschool and elementary aged children. Gingerbread house decorating and pictures with Santa are the highlights of the holiday season but there are special programs year round. The Library also works with Pelham schools and daycares to bring programs into the community. Bookmark our calendar, because there is always something going on at the Library! |
