The Girl
I guess I’m what you’d call a lost soul. Once upon a time, my dream was to work in film. I wanted to be an editor and/or production designer but above all, I wanted to write. But after a Foundation Degree in Film & TV Production which in hindsight I should never have done and four six years of ignored job applications, the only thing I have to show for my efforts is Depression and acute Social Anxiety. And crucially, I no longer have any love for that industry and writing in particular.
Right now I’m in search of a new dream. Suggestions on a postcard please. Palaeontology has always appealed to me…
I currently reside in an aesthetically pleasing black hole in the Northwest of England, called Barnoldswick, or Barlick for short. I accidentally moved here with my mum in 2005 and have been trying to escape ever since. Nothing, not even light can escape a black hole.
The Lab
Although my desire to write creatively has long since died, I still refer to myself as a writer on social sites because I blog and “writer” sounds more professional than “blogger”. I blog so that I don’t stop writing all together.
The Film Career
Occasionally I scan and photocopy for my storyboard artist boyfriend so if we were being unduly optimistic I guess we could say I’m an Art Department Assistant but the one actual credit I have to my name is Continuity on Mark Withers’ short, Meat Market. It’s unlikely that I’ll ever be asked to do Continuity again.
