Our passion for the Piceno region
Wine production in the land of Piceno over the past several years has recorded impressive figures and achieved great results, bound above all to the recognition of wines produced from native grape varieties: this is why a group of enterprises decided to set-up an association focusing on safeguarding these efforts and commitments. Following such decision, the “Vini Piceni” consortium was indeed established in 2002.
The consortium presently has 38 regular members, who are owners of businesses directly involved, in view of the activities they carry out, in one or more production phases of the DOC wines safeguarded by the consortium. The members are therefore involved in vine growing, wine producing and bottling, making sure the DOC regulations are observed as well as agreeing to and respecting the objectives of the consortium.
An impressive alliance, considering the young age of this initiative: a total production of the sector (data of 2010/2011) of 120.000 hectolitres of DOC wine.
The “Vini Piceni” Consortium was essentially created with the mission to safeguard, promote and valorise local DOC wines in Italy and abroad, ensuring they are produced in compliance with the specific Regulation. Above all its aim is to advise and inform consumers: there’s no future for a quality product if consumers are not aware.

Success in France for Picenos Wine
Vinexpo, the yearly trade fair held in Bordeaux ended June 23rd. Picenos consortium took part in the event through its 38 member companies.
Picenos goes to France to attend Vinexpo
Picenos could not miss an appointment such as Vinexpo, which will take place this year on June 19th-23rd: founded in 1981 following an initiative of the Chamber of Commerce of Bordeaux.
