Deb Scott out in the world

Places kind enough to have published my work:

Curio Poetry accepted two poems, “roadside attraction” and “Prehensile Tail”. I adore places that look for focused intensity. You should submit yours, too. (2011, in the first edition.)

VoiceCatcher 6 (print only, available at local Portland bookstores and here) kindly took one poem and two photographs (2011) and I am pleased as punch to have both art and words in such a deftly edited collection.

I’ve been exploring my iPad: qarrtsiluni published one of my photo-sketch pieces for their Translation edition (2011).

One of my prose poems found a home at Right Hand Pointing (2010).

“Sometimes I Miss the Old Jealous Goddesses” in qarrtsiluni’s New Classics edition (2010).

Tinywords published one small poem-like thing in the 9.1 issue (2010).

Luliole Press  published some of my photos and a bit of prose in their Winter 2010 issue.

Ouroboros Review published one poem and a few photographs in Issue 4 (2009).

The LBJ: Avian Life, Literary Arts,  Summer 2009  edition, published my literary essay on birds and cats, “Under the Kiwi Vine.” It’s a beautiful journal. I’m honored to be in the line-up.

More small stones are at A Handful of Stones, here (The link shows all my stones Fiona has been kind enough to include).

OCHO #24, the Twitter edition has my “The Knife Thrower” online and in print (2009).

Qarrtsilui, Mutating the Signature, published my collaboration with Christine Swint for “When Dreams Swim With Cities of Men,” The accompanying video can be found here (2009).

Ouroboros Review Issue 2 , Spring 2009, is both online and in print with two of my poems, “Straddling and Open Window” and “Muffled Boundaries.”

Qarrtsilui, Journaling the Apocalypse (POD is available here) published my fiction short-short story, “Expansion at a Time of Great Leavings” (2008).

VoiceCatcher 3 (print only, available at local Portland bookstores and here) placed my poem “First Fear and a Death” on page 2 (2008).

A Handful of  Stones picked up my prose poem Coffee Grounds. Its kind of about coffee (2008).

Asphalt Sky, Volume 1, Issue 2 published “Ten Items of Less,” and did not quibble about my grammer (2008).

Tonopah la: A Quarterly Journal of Prose and Poetry, April 2008, Volume 2 took “This is Not State Route 95.”

Qarrtsilui, the Hidden Messages issue accepted “Scene From a Tinted Window” (2008).

Qarrtsilui, the Insect issue published “Twilights Twinning” (2008)

M Review 2007 has my “Egg Carton Ikebana,” but it’s hard to find due to Flash format. Grrr. One has to hover over the “bookstore” image to find the “Poetry” section and go from there.

M Review 2006 started my acceptance list with “Oaks Bottom Blue.” Thank you, Paula Ann Peterson. In memory of Jackie Mosier, who was the copy editor and reader for that issue. Your words live, in me and others.

Past poetry projects for the community at large, closed but still residing in the ether:

Read Write Poem, a prompt site and oh so much more. Deb Scott managed the site for about a year and a half and participated in it’s administration over most of its life.

Big Tent Poetry, a fun poetry prompt site. Deb and her pals Carolee & Jill created this site and provide weekly inspiration for a year plus.
