Parsec 2011 Finalist!
The Parsec Award finalists have been posted at www.parsecawards.com/2011-parsec-awards/finalists/
I am honored for the "Geek Out! with Mainframe" podcast to be a Parsec Award finalist in the category of Best Speculative Fiction Fan or News Podcast (General). Sincere congrats to the other finalists! You folks put out some truly excellent content.
Big thanks to the Parsec Committee for listening to a LOT of audio submissions. :)
To the honorable judges for the Parsecs this year, I apologize in advance ... (at least my guests are awesome) ;)
To the other podcast finalists in my category, don't worry about my little podcast ... it's the rest of the field you have to worry about.
To my guests, thanks ever so much for being on the show. :) ... I wish I could have included a clip from all of you in my submission.
Finally to my listeners, you are what the show is about, I hope you are enjoying the ride. :)
I'm looking forward to going to DragonCon and talking to some of the great podcasters there :)
You guys rock!

GOWM 27 - Interview with Odin1Eye - Part 2
Download: GOWM_027.mp3
Episode 27 is the second half of my interview with Odin1Eye. Odin is the blogger and podcaster of "View From Valhalla" - the place to go for the best reviews of podcast novels. If you want to know what Odin listens to besides the podiobooks he's already reviewed, you'll want to catch this episode.
And what does Podiobooks.com need more of? Listen to find out! (Even Evo Terra agrees in a recent interview on PodioRacket #50). So when you write one of those and put it up on Podiobooks, let Odin and I know ... We WILL listen.

GOWM 26 - Interview with Odin1Eye - Part 1
Download: GOWM_026.mp3
Episode 26 is the first part of my interview with Odin1Eye. Odin is the blogger and podcaster of "View From Valhalla" - the place to go for the best reviews of podcast novels. I enjoy FREE podcast audio novels, but if you are new to the podcast community there is no better place to start your search for ones you will enjoy. Odin's reviews are balanced and focused on letting you know why you would want to listen or pass on the podcast novels he reviews. Even for people like me who listened to the very first ones, visiting the site every Monday to find new podiobooks or being able to share your opinions about ones you've already listened to is a real service. He's even started podcasting his reviews, both recent and older ones, so please subscribe on his site.
On top of all that Odin is a REALLY nice person, great human being, and fellow "Watcher". I consider him one of my best Internet buddies. So what are you waiting for? Go listen already ... and check out his blog.
And if you comment on this or any other episode, please email me and enter yourself in the contest that is going on until May 18, 2011 - gowmainframe.blogspot.com/2011/04/geek-out-contest-1st-year-celebration.html

GOWM 25 - Talking Digital Comics with Ted
Download: GOWM_025.mp3
In episode 25; my brother, Ted, and I discuss digital comics. We are both long time comic book fans and we take a bit of time to talk about our thoughts on digital comics and how we think it may impact the comic book industry.
This isn't an interview, like most of my previous episodes. Also the audio quality isn't as good as I'd like. But I'm interested in finding out if you'd like more of these kinds of discussions on the show in general, and if you'd like Ted back in specific. So please comment on the episode and make your preferences known.
