Friday, March 02, 2012 1:10:00 PM
This post is courtesy of Cameron Fuller (www.systemcentercentral.com/Default.aspx?tabid=143&IndexId=92048) I recently blogged on installing Windows Server 8 Beta as a guest operating system in my SCVMM environment, and attempting to monitor Windows Server 8 Beta with Operations Manager 2012 RC. Re: Multiple Storage Pools

Wednesday, February 29, 2012 10:17:24 PM
Hi, DPM will choose whatever location it it likes in the storage pool to save data.  You can create multiple "raw" storage disks and add them to one storage pool, but you have no control over where DPM places the files.  The only way to achieve what you are after is to use custom volumes as you can specifiy protection groups to use set custom volumes. I would prefer to have 4 different storage pools as we would like to run multiple backups at the same time and believe that we would get better performance if the pools are seperated such that one backup job doesn't...

Re: DPM Backup Saved State

Tuesday, February 07, 2012 6:31:01 AM
Hi korada77, When a VM has the Hyper-V integration  tools installed it should be protected as Child Partition Snapshot. When it does not have Hyper-V integration tools installed or is a legacy operating system it will be protected as Saved state. Double check your VM's for the Hyper-V integration tools.
