Poor Gayle
It was around 7:15 AM this morning when we arrived in the Starbucks parking lot. We each headed out of the car ready in the direction of the entrance to Starbucks when all of a sudden I hear Gayle's keys drop to the floor. I then quickly turned around and found Gayle flat on her face on the sidewalk. It's hard to believe that Gayle, a former college gymnast can be so klutzy at times. I helped her off the sidewalk and she complained of her knee hurting. The gymnast in Gayle came out and she said "I will be ok" and we proceeded to order a cup of our favorite addiction.
We hopped back into the car and headed towards work. It was good to hear Gayle singing to the radio on the way. I knew that this was a good sign and hoped that she simply bruised her knee. A few hours later she called me at work to let me know she was headed to the doctor at 10:15. Being the caring, loving husband that I am, I began calling her cell phone at around 10:45 trying to find out what the doctor said. Well at around 11:30 we finally connected and she told me that her knee cap was broken and had to go to the Rebound Clinic in Portland for additional care. Gayle then swung by work to pick me up.
So we arrive at the Rebound Clinic and wait several hours. The doc finally came in and looked over Gayle's x-ray and her knee and confirmed that she had a small fracture and had to wear a knee brace for 4-6 weeks. We are now home and Gayle is resting. Keep in mind that Gayle is the one and only driver in our family as I can't drive a car due to my visual impairment. Good thing it was her left knee and not her right knee. With the brace she is able to walk very slowly. Many thanks to our friend Heidi, Kelly and Brian for their offer to help us out with any errands that may need to be run.
Gayle should be fine for Lotusphere and I hope Vince stays away from the ski slopes this year. :-)

OpenNTF Mail Experience 7.0.2a beta is out
Now don't go flogging me for this release of the OpenNTF Mail template but in this version Vince has packaged both the "classic" OpenNTF Mail Experience template with the new colorfule and stylish OpenNTF Mail Experience Anniversary Edition. This special addition of the mail template is in celebration of OpenNTF's fifth birthday which is coming in December. Take a peak at a screenshot here.
Included in both the classic and the Anniversary edition of the template is a new feature that allows Domino Administrators to set default "reply" settings via the Notes.ini file. See the release page for more info. Remember, this is a beta :-). Your cosntructive feedback is appreciated.
Chris Whisonant blogs about the new template.

Thoughts of Dani
It was during this time back in 2003 when Danielle's brain tumor began to grow rapidly, clawing it's way into Dani's central nervous system and forcing us to place her in a drug induced coma in order to avoid her having seizures. During this time I was able to thankfully turn to Gayle, Alyssa, my mom and dad, my sister, Kelly, Rocky, Volker, Vince, Anil, Ed and many others who were there to support me during this extremely difficult time. It's hard to believe that it has already been almost three years since we lost Dani.
Dani, you are always in my heart and in my thoughts.

Domino YUI Project
Niel Revelle has released a beta version of his new OpenNTF project "Domino YUI".
Very rough first pass after exploring the yui-ext libraries (www.jackslocum.com) that were brought to my attention by reading the codestore.net on a daily basis. The main purpose of this build was to develop the DominoXMLDataModel.js and DominoGridViewer.js. My goal is to have them work with any Domino XML view without any other modifications (but allow cutomizations where needed). It's off to a good start, the db works great on flat views and will show categorized views (but their are issues with paging). I've pluged and played the BorderLayout into the app, that code for that hasn't really been Domino'd yet.
See it in action here.
Access the project on OpenNTF here.
