Performing Arts Center
WELCOME TO THE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER WEBSITE
The stunning $18 million Performing Arts Center (PAC) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi opened to great acclaim in April 2005 with a gala opening performance by Grammy winning Tejano legend Freddy Fender. Since then the PAC has been host to world-class artists such as pianist Van Cliburn, violinists Itzhak Perlman and Joshua Bell, and Mezzo Soprano Frederica von Stade.
Now in our 7th year we are proud to continue our tradition of bringing Michael Martin Murphey's Cowboy Christmas Concert back during our annual Robert and Gloria R. Furgason Bravo! Series for the Performing Arts. The Performing Arts Center provides a world-class performance venue for university music students and music festivals, middle and high school bands, choirs, and orchestras and local non-profit performing arts organizations. In addition, the PAC is the principal performance venue for the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra, Corpus Christi Chorale, and Corpus Christi Live!
Overlooking beautiful Corpus Christi Bay, the PAC serves the university faculty, staff, and students and the entire Coastal Bend community as well as providing an annual grant program for area non-profit performing groups to use the PAC at a reduced rental rate.
This world-class acoustically-superb Concert Hall has pushed Corpus Christi to the forefront of cultural arts and entertainment in South Texas and features a 1500-seat Concert Hall with state-of-art acoustics, a striking 50-foot glass-walled lobby that faces Ocean Drive offering a beautiful 360-degree view of the Corpus Christi bay and the downtown skyline, and a versatile Greenroom for more intimate gatherings and receptions.
