Solar Power and Panels – Green Energy

Solar panels are practical solutions for meeting America’s energy needs. Size, geographic location and placement of social panels are practical considerations. No matter where one lives, solar energy can be a practical solution for efficient energy.

One’s geographic region determines the maximum potential of solar power in an area. However, even in the most frigid regions, people are enjoying the benefits of solar power. While the southwestern portion of the United States offers the maximum amount of solar energy, even the darkest, coldest regions of Alaska can benefit. In fact, solar panels in northern states are a viable energy source.

The long hours of summer sun in Alaska can be ideal for solar energy.  Interestingly enough, the arctic temperatures cause the photovoltaic panels to operate more efficiently.  This means that more power is produced per daylight hour as the hours grow shorter.  While the photovoltaic panels may not be used much in the dark months of November through January, an alternative source of power can be used during that time. With a combination of energy sources to choose from, such as a solar panels and a wind generator, survival in the most frigid conditions can be handled efficiently with a renewable, non-polluting energy source.

Solar panels are especially beneficial in remote geographic areas where there is no alternative power sources, such as in remote villages, at sea, or on camping trips. Solar panels can even be beneficial for industrial use at remote sites where conventional forms of electrical power are unavailable.

Solar Panels

Placement of solar panels is a consideration for maximum energy output.  Panels should not be placed in areas where there are any obstructions, which would shade a panel from the sun.  Overhanging trees, higher elevations of rooftops, etc., can shade the panel from the sun, minimizing its efficiency.  Mount solar panels on a rooftop or use a freestanding solar array rack. Choose from flexible or rigid panels, either framed or unframed, or solar roofing, depending on your needs.  As the options become more widespread, there is more to choose from to meet your existing needs.

Once the solar panels are mounted and wired, they will convert sunlight into electricity, which is stored in a battery bank for household use. As electricity in the house is used, withdrawals are made from the stored battery. When their charge drops, the solar panels recharge them as necessary.

Solar energy can be used for small or large output. Panels can collect energy for recharging small batteries to providing electrical power for a household, and even for industrial grade output.

The options of solar energy resources are expanding because America is committed to using viable alternative, renewable energy sources. No longer are there deterrents for using clean energy resources such as solar energy. Currently, tax incentives make transferring current electrical systems to solar energy a practical consideration.  Even better is the decision to plan a new home with energy efficient solar panels from the outset. Advantages of Hardwood Flooring – 4 Great Tips

Hardwood flooring has some important advantages. If you thought that the only point of this type of flooring was a particular look, you might be surprised at the other benefits hardwoods bring. Here are a few to consider when you are remodeling down to the floors.

1. Hardwood flooring is durable.

Hardwoods have lasted for centuries in some old homes, and they can last well for you too. There are no threads to unravel, no pile to mash down, and no tiles to break. Even if this flooring does begin to show wear, there are measures you can take to make it look like new again. You can do a light screen and refinish, or completely sand, re-stain, and refinish. Once you install your wood floors, there is no reason you should have to take them up again, ever.

2. Hardwood flooring is good for people with allergies.

Many people have allergies to dust. While you might see dust on a hardwood floor, it is easily removed with ordinary methods. Carpeting is different. Dust and dust mites can get down into the carpet to the point that it is impossible to ever get them out. A used carpet is many times heavier than a new one, simply because it is full of dust and dust mites. People with allergies do better when they are in rooms with hardwood flooring that can be completely cleaned.

3. Hardwood flooring is easily cleaned.

Unlike the old waxed hardwood floors, the finishes on today’s hardwoods allow you to do all your cleaning with a broom or vacuum and a damp mop. Spills should be wiped up immediately and the floor should never be soaked with excessive water. Despite these two basic rules, it takes very little time and effort to keep these floors clean.

4. Hardwood flooring is versatile.

You can put hardwoods down all over your home, but decorate in different styles in each room. The flooring does not limit you to a particular color or design. It looks just as good in a contemporary room as it does in a traditional one. You will likely consider the look of the hardwoods in your decorating scheme, but it will not keep you from choosing the fabrics and artwork you desire.
