The Yorkshire Dales is home to some of the finest cross country mountain biking in the country, with an excellent network of bridleways, fantastic scenery, and great pubs in nearly every village.

The trails are on a mixture of surfaces from wide stone tracks, to heather moorland and paths over limestone grassland, and all winding their way through tremendous landscapes of high fells, limestone uplands, dry stone walls and valley pastures.

There is great history behind the trails and you will be following in the footsteps of miners, packhorse ponies, monastic trade routes and roman supply routes. With over 900km of legal riding to go at, there is more than enough to keep most people busy, and the routes on this site are just a few possibilities of what is on offer.

There are also great places in the Dales that will hire you a quality bike, give you advice, take you on a guided ride, or improve your skills. And there are plenty of places to stay whether you are looking for a campsite, a B&B or something more upmarket.
