Moms Choice Awards Pick Four Headline Kids Titles
Independent Publisher of the Year Headline Books Inc., of Terra Alta, W.Va., now has 14 titles that have won Moms Choice Awards. It was announced last week by the Moms Choice Awards the following Headline Kids titles are now Award Recipients:

From fears of riding a bike to problems with friends, Why Do My Feet Say Yes When My Head Says No? by Eileen Cooley and illustrated by Jill Dubin, helps children find the right solution to everyday dilemmas. Cooley, a Professor of Psychology at Agnes Scott College and a licensed psychologist in Georgia for more than 20 years, developed these problem-solving scenarios based on her clinical and parenting experiences.
Earlier this year, Return to Arteo, by Kaitlyn and Sandy Brannin was named a Finalist in the Childrens Fiction category of the 2011 International Book Awards. It is a story of friendship and the Brannins second book about the world of Arteo. New readers and fans alike will enjoy this fast-paced chapter book for the younger set. Kaitlyn is a fifth-grader who loves to read, play sports, and enjoys being creative. Sandy Brannin is a full-time physician and enjoys helping the children in her community by coaching and being active in her familys extracurricular activities.
Funny Dan the Race Car Man (NASCAR Library Collection) by Tim Packman and illustrated by Brendan Sellaro is a story about a NASCAR driver who competes for the pure joy of being involved in something he loves. His passion for racing is the one thing that motivates him to compete and, despite the fact hes never been to victory lane, hes still a winner to his family, friends and fellow competitors. Packman has won several media awards as a writer and for his work in radio covering NASCAR for almost two decades. He is communications director at R3 Motorsports. Packman has authored two books about NASCAR, including one with driver Bobby Allison.
Season of Play, by Debra Benedetti and illustrated by Ashley Teets, brings back outdoor games from the 1950s and 60s in an effort to get kids off the couch. This collection of games and rhyming text are complemented by the soft pastel drawings of award-winning illustrator Teets. Benedetti is Associate Professor of English and Academic Studies and the writing coordinator at Pierpont Community & Technical College in Fairmont. Recently she received the Paul Edwards Award for Teaching Excellence at Pierpont Community & Technical College.
