Foot by Foot in the Cairngorms with BAIML

This year, Trekmates have sponsored the ‘Walking Around: Expert Knowledge’ article in OE Foot by Foot magazine.

Matthew Jordan headed out in the Cairngorms with a British Association of International Mountain Leaders (BAIML) guide named Carl.

The two headed up to the summit of Cairngorm Mountain, taking a less popular ridge route requiring snow shoes.

The article explains the experience and confidence that can be gained from walking with a BAIML guide, Matthew comments that walking with Carl allowed him to follow a route and experience the mountain in a way that he wouldn’t have had the confidence to do alone.
