Provisioning Services 6 Black Screen Issue

Citrix Provisioning Services 6 has an issue with target devices getting a black screen or the target devices stop responding on reboot.  This issue is caused by a DHCP lease issue with Provisioning Services 6.  See Citrix Knowledge Center article CTX132133 – PVS 6.0 Targets Might Boot to a Black Screen and Stop Responding for more info.  So what happens if your Target Devices are having the issue and you are not able to use them anymore?  In this article I am going to go over how to fix your Provisioning Services image.

With the new XenDesktop CCU License options will XenApp only be sold with XenDesktop?

With Citrix’s recent XenDesktop trade up program announcement and adding concurrent user licenses for XenDesktop Enterprise and Platinum, will XenApp licenses no longer be sold in the future?  Will we soon see the end of XenApp being sold as separate product and only sold with XenDesktop licenses?  In this blog post I am going to go over why I think XenApp will start being sold only as part of XenDesktop licenses.

Access Gateway Enterprise with AAA Groups and the Citrix Receiver

I recently enabled VPN in Access Gateway Enterprise for another way to get into my corporate environment since myself and a handful of engineers support the environment.  We already had the Citrix Receiver setup and working through Access Gateway.  Once I began testing my access (before rolling out to others) after enabling VPN by testing the different methods of access, I started getting errors and wasn’t able to logon using the Citrix Receiver.  In this blog post I am going to go over Access Gateway Enterprise with AAA Groups and the Citrix Receiver.

I was recently working with Doug Brown (@douglasabrown, DABCC) and Shane Kleinert (@shanekleinert, CitrixIRC) on converting a VMware VMDK to VHD for use with XenClient.  Using XenConvert to convert the VMDK to VHD completed without errors but when following Citrix Knowledgebase Article CTX127075 – Attempting to use a Virtual Hard Disk on XenClient 1.0 Created Using XenConvert or From a Pre-Release XenClient System Fails with Error Code 199 and using the vhd-copy script, the
