All locations carry 2 cask conditioned "real" ales, and over 250 bottled beers. It is our intention to present only the finest beers available.

The way beer used to be before refrigeration and forced carbonation! The freshest beer possible served at cellar temperate (50 - 55 degrees) via hand pump and in the traditional 20 oz English Imperial Pint Glass. Ask your server which ones are available now.

 

Starr Hill - Amber Ale Cask- Charlottesville - ABV 5%
A multiple award winning English Brown Ale. This beer is characterized by its extreme drinkability .The beer is medium in body with a slightly sweet finish.

 

Victory - Storm King Stout Cask- Pennsylvania - ABV 9.1%
With a huge, Pacific Northwest hop aroma & character upfront, Storm King subsides into massive, roast malt complexity. Rich and substantial, it will warm your heart.

A crisp wheat beer flavored with raspberries producing a subtle coloration and haze, fruity aroma and a tart yet sweet taste.

 

Allagash - White Ale - Maine-ABV 5.5%
Allagash White delicately balances full flavor with a crisp, refreshing taste and subtle hints of spice. Naturally cloudy.

 

Avery - Hog Heaven Barley Wine - Colorado- ABV 9.2%
This dangerously drinkable garnet beauty is a hop lover's delight. The intense dry-hop nose and the alcohol content are perfectly balanced for a caramel candy-like malt finish. This is a serious beer for serious beer afficionados and it only gets better with age. Cellarable for 3 years.

 

Avery - Maharaja Imperial IPA - Colorado - ABV 9.2%
The Maharaja - Imperial IPA is royally welcomed to Colorado. Weighing in at a huge 112 IBUs, and 9.7% ABV, The Maharaja is a maniacal display of hops and malts. This newest Avery Dictator completes the "Dictator Series" joining the likes of The Kaiser & The Czar. Be aware that The Maharaja is a limited release only available for the summer.

 

Anderson Valley - Winter Solstice - California-  ABV 6.9 %
Winter Solstice Seasonal Ale begins with a very high original gravity to create a hearty and spicy brew with a deep amber hue and a smooth finish.

 

Bass - Pale Ale - England-  ABV 4.4%
A Classic English ale. For hundreds of years, the traditional English pub has offered an irresistible combination of fine ale and warm welcome. Bass Ale comes from the very heart of this tradition.

 

Bitburger - Pils - Germany - ABV 4.8%
Pale in color with a crisp hoppy aroma. A full bodied pilsener that is one of Germany's best!

 

Black Sheep - Holy Grail Ale - England - ABV 4.7%
Holy Grail Bitter was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Monty Python. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavoured with a dry and refreshing bitterness.

 

Dogfish Head - Aprihop- ABV 6%
A strong IPA brewed with real apricots and finished with whole leaf Willamette and Cascade hops.

 

Dogfish Head Brewing - 90 Minute IPA - Delaware - ABV 9%
What you have here is a India Pale Ale featuring a single, constant 90 minute hop addition of Warrior, Simcoe, and Amarillo hops. It's balanced by a ridiculous amount of English two-row barley. Then they dry-hop it in every tank.

 

Dominion - Spring Imperial Pilsner - Virginia - ABV 8.5%
Each season, the brewers develop recipes that highlight great brewing styles, traditions and ingredients. Hops take center stage in  Noble Imperial Pilsner, with forty pounds of noble Saaz, Tettnang, and Spalt hops going into each twenty-five barrel batch. they employ first wort hopping to create novel tastes and aromas; the result is a fascinating 70 IBU beer. 

 

Guinness - Extra Stout - Ireland- ABV 4.1%
Irelands original stout. Rich, creamy and dark. 

 

Gouden Carolus - Classic Brown- Belgium - ABV 8%
This Belgian will charm you with its warm coppery color and its rich bouquet. Strong yet balanced, sweet with hints of fruit. This beer is a must for any Belgian brown lover.

 

Great Divide - Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout - Colorado- ABV 9.5%
Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti's already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. 

 

Harp - Irish Lager - Ireland - ABV 4.3%
Bright golden; fruity nose; crisp and clean, slightly bitter up front, smooth aftertaste.

 

Heller - Rauchbier Marzen - Germany - ABV 5.1%
Dark, bottom fermented speciality, brewed with self made Original Schlenkerla Beechwood Smokemalt and bottled according to old tradition directly from the gravity-fed oak wood cask. Super smokey.

 

Hoegaarden - Wit - Belgium - ABV 5.1%
Unfiltered Belgian White, with hints of coriander and orange peel, creating a sweet & sour taste.

 

Hofbrau - Mai Bock-Germany - ABV 6%
Full orange hue. Spicey hop and bready roasted malt aromas follow through well on a medium- bodied palate with tangy hop notes that linger on the finish. A rich flavorful Maibock.

 

Huyghe - Floris Apple - Belgium - ABV 3.5%
Light and crisp! Drinks like an apple champagne!

 

La Gnomette - Experiment - Belgium - ABV 7%
This is the first by the brewery.  It is a test of recipe and a creation of imagination.  Would love to hear what you think.

 

Legend Brewing - Brown Ale - Virginia - ABV 6.0%
Classic English Brown Ale. This full bodied beer is brewed with carmel and roasted malts then hopped with Mount Hood and Tettnang hops.

 

Legend Brewing - Pilsner - Virginia - ABV 5.8%
Deep gold in color with a firm malty background, assertively hopped with Hallertau, Saaz, and Tettnang hops.  This Richmond beer is dry hopped for additional aroma..

 

Magic Hat - "9" Almost Pale Ale - Vermont - ABV 5.1 %
An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there's never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast. Malts: All English 2-Row Malted Pale, Crystal and Wheat Hops: Tettnang, Willamette and Cascade Alcohol by Volume: 5.1% Original Gravity: 1.048

 

Maredsous - 8 - Belgium - ABV 8%
Dark and dubbel like in its style. Sweet dark fruits like rasins and plums make up this strong ales tempting nose. Malty sweet complexity with a wonderful smooth quality that makes you forget the high alcohol. Delicious plum nectar.

 

Paulaner - Hefe-Weiss - Germany - ABV 5.8%
High in effervescence and low in calories with a crisp, refreshing fruity flavor. A German tradition.

 

Rogue - Chipotle Ale - Oregon - ABV 5.4%
Mexicali Rogue is based on Rogue's Oregon Golden Ale, but delicately spiced with smoked chipotle chile peppers. Deep golden in color with a tight head, rich malty aroma, delicately smooth and crisp flavor, and subtle chipotle chili finish. Mexicali is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, and Maier Munich Malts; Willamette and Cascade hops; and Smoked Chipolte Peppers.

 

Rogue - Hazelnut Brown - Oregon - ABV 6.2 %
Dark brown in color with a hazelnut aroma, a rich nutty flavor and a smooth malty finish. Hazelnut Brown Nectar Ale is a blend of Great Western 2-row Pale, Munich, Hugh Baird Brown, Crystal 80 and Crystal 135, Carastan, and Beeston Pale Chocolate malts; hazelnut extract; Perle and Saaz hops.

 

Sierra Nevada - India Pale Ale - ABV 6.0 %
As is fitting for this hop-focused brewery, their IPA is a hophead's delight. Made only in very small quantities, this beer is a treat for the intrepid beer fanatic.

 

Southampton Publikhouse - Imperial Porter - New York - ABV 6%
Imperial Baltic -Style Porter is inspired by the strong, dark brews exported from Great Britain to Eastern Europe in the 18th adn 19th Centuries.  Rich & flavorful with upfront notes of chocolate, caramel and toffee. 

 

Spaten - Optimator - Germany - ABV 7.2%
The classic German dark beer, bottom fermented 'Doppel Bock'. Full bodied with a deep dark color and rich roasted malt flavor.

 

Spaten - Premium Lager - Germany -   ABV 5.2%
This beer is their speciality. In 1894 Spaten became the first brewery in Munich to produce this brand of light lager. Golden in color with a well-balanced hop-flavor. The full rounded body is a superb balance between hops and a malty sweetness. Also known as Spaten Münchner Hell and is sold under that name in Germany.

 

St Bernardius - ABT 12 - Belgium - ABV 10%
Full bodied quadruple, creamy, fruity and with a great complexity. Hints of rasin and plum. Brown sugar and spice with a hint of licorice. It doesn’t get much better as far as Belgian beers go.

 

St. George Brewing - IPA - Virginia - 5.0%
English style ale with a distinct hop spiciness from imported 100% Fuggles hops.

 

Stone - Arrogant Bastard - California - ABV 7.1%
This is an aggressive beer. You probably won't like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth (however, you're chances are greatly increased if you have good enough taste to be in this establishment).

 

Stone Brewing - IPA - California - ABV6.9%
"Dry-hopped" for an extra two weeks, this unique process gives this IPA its bountiful hop aroma and rich hop flavor. A full 70+ IBUs (International Bitterness Units) creates this beer's crisp and refreshing bitter character.

 

Stoudts - Double IPA - Pennsylvania - ABV 10.6%
A super well balanced IPA hoppy enough for any IPA fan. Sweet with a golden color. Smoother than most IPAs with twice the ABV content

 

Stoudts - Fat Dog Imperial Oatmeal Stout-Pennslyania - ABV 10%
A combination of a imperial and oatmeal stout. The new bigger version of the original.Poured pitch black with a thin tan head. Aroma of coffee, sweet chocolate and dark fruits. This one is  dangerous. Smooth, creamy, and strong enough to warm any cold day.

 

Thirsty Dog - Siberian Night Imp. Stout - Ohio - ABV 9%
Creamy and full-bodied, with a complex character from generous amounts of roasted, toasted, and caramel malts. For those who demand flavor, this is the perfect libation. Bronze Medal winner 2003 GABF, Gold Medal winner 2005 GABF. Rated 100 percent by Ratebeer.com

 

Tommy Knocker - Maple Nut Brown - Colorado - ABV 4%
A very drinkable amber ale with a delicate amount of maple syrup added to each barrel.

 

Unibroue - Blanche d' Chambly- Canada - ABV 5%
Beautiful cloudy white golden hues. Smells of slight lemon scent, with a citrus flavor evident in the first taste. Definitely a white beer, very nice!

 

Unibroue - Trois Pistoles - Canada - ABV 9%
Strong Belgian type ale similar to a Port wine ! Is as dark as can be, mellow in taste with an aroma of ripe fruits. It can be compared to an old porto and is brewed from well roasted malt.

 

Van Steenberg - Gulden Draak - Belgium - ABV 10.5%
Gulden Draak is a dark brown Triple Ale, which makes it an exception among the Belgian Triples. The second fermentation offers the nice creamy head, the full body and all the vitamins of the centuries old brewers yeast. It is a "thick" beer, that you can actually "eat" to adventure the complex taste. Gulden Draak balances a natural malt toffee-like sweetness with a mellow happiness and some hoppy accents. The aroma is round, sweet and reveals the 10.5 alcohol by volume.

 

 

Verhaeghe-Duchesse De Bougogne Sour Flemish Red-Belgium - ABV 6%
This refined ale also known as "The Burgundies of Belgium" is a blend of 8 and 18 months old ales following careful maturation in oak casks. Sour vinous nose. Deep burgundy hue. Sticky beige head. Very tart and sour but with a pleasant underlaying sweetness. Medium bodied, finishing with a delectable dry lingering woody character. Very different, but incredibly drinkable. Let this one warm up.

 

Victory Brewing - All Malt Lager - Pennsylvania - ABV 5.2%
Superbly balanced, this authentic version of a German export style lager satisfies gloriously. Full German malts and fine European hops offer subtle harmony.

Weyerbacher - Heresy Imperial Stout - Pennsylvania-  ABV 8.2%
This incredibly intriguing Stout is made by aging  Old Heathen to perfection in Oak barrels that were used to age bourbon. Notes of Oak, whiskey, and vanilla meld beautifully with the roastiness of this Imperial Stout

 

Ayinger - Celebrator Doppelbock-Germany - ABV - 6.7%
Rated as one of the best beers in the world!! Full bodied and velvety from half a year's brewing. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smokey dryness in the finish.

 

Fullers - London Porter - England - ABV 5.4%
Smooth, rich, and strong, this porter is brewed from a blend of brown, crystal and chocolate malts for a creamy delivery balanced by traditional Fuggles hops. London Porter was Gold Medal winner of the International Beer and Cider award at the 1999 International Food Exhibition (IFE).

 

Breckenridge - Avalanche Amber - Colorado - ABV 6.7%
Crafted with hearty amounts of pale and Munich malts, then balanced with lofty amounts of hops throughout.

 

Great Divide - Hercules Double IPA - Colorado - ABV 9.1%
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart.  Pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass.  Delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. 

 

Legend Brewing - Lager - Virginia -   ABV 4.5 %
Made from 100% malted barley giving it a malty aroma and medium light body.  The addition of Hallertau and Saaz hops add a subtle balance.

 

Magic Hat - St. Gootz - Vermont - ABV 5.9%
Dark unfiltered wheat beer, very much like a brown ale. just released by Magic Hat.. 

 

Pilsner Urquell - Ur Pilsner - Czech Republic - ABV 4.4%
It is called the "model of meter" among beers. All other pilsners are a better or worse attempt to copy the original - the first ever Pilsner Urquell. Its unparalleled exceptionality is guaranteed by the same recipe dating from 1842.

 

Schneider - Eisbock - Germany - ABV 10%
Known to be the world's most intense and complex wheat beer. This beer is partially  frozen to remove excess water to make a more concentrated  brew.

 

Smithwicks - Irish Ale - Ireland - ABV 5%
It’s pronounced Smith_Icks, the W is silent. Redish brown in color, malty aroma, and just a touch of roasted malt and caramel.

 

Victory Brewing - Golden Monkey Abbey Tripel - Pennsylvania - ABV 9.5%
This golden frothy ale boasts an intriguing herbal aroma,firm bodied to the finish.

Widmer - Hefeweizen - Washington - ABV 4.7%
A golden unfiltered wheat beer that is truly cloudy and clearly superb.

 

Young's - Double Chocolate Stout - England - ABV 5.0%
A distinctive chocolate flavor with a smooth and velvety finish. Pale ale malt, crystal malt, roasted barley, chocolate malt, special blend of sugars, Fuggles and Goldings hops, real dark chocolate and chocolate essence. Melted chocolate bars are added to the boil and the essence is added after filtration.

 

 

Allgauer Cambonator Doppelbock - Germany - ABV-7.2%
Dark in color with a fine aromatic taste. Very flavorful with sweet malts, and nuts...spicy hop presence.

 

Anchor Brewing Co - Liberty Ale - California-  ABV 6.8%
Originally brewed in 1975 to commemorate Paul Revere's ride, this brew is a heavily hopped ale (Cascade hops) .

 

Eggenburger - Hopfenkonig  Pils - Austria - ABV 5.1 %
An excellent pils, brewed with the world-famous Saazer hops. Hopfenkonig has a crisp, clean dry, hoppy nose and aromatic flavors.

 

Franziskaner - Hefe-Weiss - Germany - ABV 5%
Deep golden color. Natural cloudiness, with yeast Crispy, refreshing, spicy and fruity.

 

Murphy's - Irish Stout - Ireland - ABV 4.3%
A strong contender to Guinness as the ultimate Irish stout.  Murphy's is not quite as bitter and has a smoother head.

 

Nectar Ales - Red Nectar - California - ABV 5.5%
Cloudy reddish amber, nice lasting head, and exceptional lacing, bitterness was moderate and this ale goes down smooth. Good solid maltiness provides the foundation for this fine drinkable ale.

 

 

Paulaner - Original Lager - Germany -   ABV 5%
When the Original Münchner was brewed for the first time at the end of the 19th Century, it was a spectacular success. With its slight hoppy taste, subtle, light and elegant, it becomes ever popular. Today the Paulaner Original Münchner is the best sold Münchner Hellbier (lager beer) in the world and Paulaner's No. 1 export beer in over 30 countries with its wonderfully subtle, spicy, naturally hearty taste.

 

Rogue - Dead Guy Ale - Oregon - ABV 6.6%
A German-style Maibock (usually a lager)  made with Rogue's proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.

 

Sierra Nevada - Pale Ale - California - ABV 5.6 %
This beer has a deep amber color and an exceptionally full body, complex character.

 

 

Southampton-Mai Bock - New York - ABV 6.5%
A special Bavarian-style lager beer brewed to celebrate the arrival of Spring. A deep bronze color and ultra-smooth after 7 long weeks of ageing at 32 degrees, Brewed with 100% imported German ingredients. og: 15.5 abv: 6.5


 

Victory Brewing - Hop Devil Ale - ABV 6.7 %
Bold, spicy and delicious. Hop Devil's aromatic punch is followed through with a lasting full bodied finish.

 

 

Achouffe - Houblon Double IPA - Belgium - ABV 7%
Not only is this beer brewed in limited quantities, rarely it is seen in the states.  Capital Ale House however, has managed to accquire some.  Not the most hoppiest as the name may imply, but the hoppiest beer in Belgium.  A taste not to be missed. 

 

Ayinger - Brau Weisse - Germany - ABV 5.1 %
Delicious lemon and vanilla scented wheat beer with yeast. This is an aristocratic beer with a champagne sparkle and a beautifully sustained head. With the pale color of mountain honey and tart refreshing palate, it is a "brut" beer with the delicious, complex fruitiness of extra-dry champagne. Bottle conditioned and top fermented, it is a benchmark for this style of beer. The nose is fruity-spicy, herbaceous with lots of flowers, and fruit. With such a creamy head, you can build miniature mountains that resemble the Alps.

 

Belhaven - Twisted Thistle IPA - Scotland - ABV 6.1%
A refreshing example of an India Pale Ale from the brewers at Belhaven. The blend of Cascade and Challenger hops combine to produce an abundance of fresh hop  aroma that preludes a bitter-dry tast explosion.   Belhaven is Scotland's oldest independent brewery.

 

Brooklyn Brewing - Blond Bock - New York - ABV 7.7%
The newest seasonal in the Brewmasters Special Reserve.  Blond in color, bubbly mouth feel and banana flavor. 

 

Brooklyn Brewing- Brown Ale - New York - ABV 5.5%
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

 

Cherish - Raspberry Lambic - Belgium - ABV 5% - 8oz
Ripe delicious raspberry with just a bit of a tart finish

 

Clipper City - Heavy Seas Loose Cannon- Maryland - ABV 7.5%
This beer is a triple hopped IPA containing over 3 pounds of hops per barrel.  Not for the faint of palate, it has an intensely floral, spicy and citrusy hop aroma and flavor. 

 

Clipper City - Oxford Raspberry Wheat - Maryland - ABV5.3%
Oxford Raspberry Wheat (5.30 % ABV) is the "Original American fruit beer" and is loosely styled in a Belgian tradition. Made with real raspberries - sophisticated, refreshing, and different, the beer is a great summer quencher and delicious year round! Awarded Best East Coast Fruit Beer - US Beer Tasting Championship, Summer 2000 and 2002.

 

De Dolle - Oerbier - Belgium- ABV 7.5%
This beer has been brewed in small scale (5 gallons). Oerbier is brewed from no less than 6 malts. Poperinge Golding hops in flowers and a special veast which makes it a little tart, especially with aging. At the brewery they have excellent cellars which have a constant temperature of 8°C and allow Oerbier to age at its best. After a couple of years Oerbier tastes like it should have been blended with wine Oerbier  contains a layer of yeast, having vitamins B. NAT en STRAF on the glasses means WET and STRONG, a warning for the 7.5 vol. alcohol content. The little person on the glasses is the Oerbier man, a simple creature who holds a brewers fork in his right hand, symbolizing the work and science

 

Erdinger- Weiss - Germany - ABV 5.3%
A premium Weissbier at the top of its class.  Hazy golden body, thick creamy head. Erdinger is brewed strictly after the Bavarian purity requirements.

 

Einbecker - Mai Bock - Germany - ABV 6.5%
This famous specialty beer with its refreshing taste is produced every Spring.

 

Einbecker - Ur Bok - Germany - ABV 6.5%
The original first bock. Brewed from dark malt. Characterized by a strong, robust taste.

 

Franziskaner-Hefe-Weissbier-Germany - ABV 5.5%
Deep golden color. Natural cloudiness,  because of yeast. Crispy, refreshing, spicy and fruity.....

 

Great Divide - Old Ruffian Barley Wine - Colorado - ABV 10.2%
Old Ruffian is a hefty, hop-forward Barley Wine. Seemingly mellow at first sniff, with its subtle fruit aromas and complex caramel sweetness, this deep mahogany-hued ale quickly shows its true character marked by bold hop flavors and massive hop bitterness. It’s rich, slightly creamy, caramel malt mouthfeel balances its grapefruit, pine, and floral hop flavors, working wonders on your palate.

 

Heller - Rauchbier Weizen - Germany - ABV 5.2%
Wheat beer with a  smokey flavor. Unfiltered and naturally hazy. Schlenkerla Smoke wheat is fermented with fine top-fermenting yeast.

 

Lagunitas - Maximus Double IPA - ABV - 7.5%
An imperial double IPA with 30% more hops than the original Lagunitas IPA. Hopheads get ready to be pleased.

 

Legend Brewing - Cask Hopfest - Virginia - ABV 7.1%
Celebrate the delicious hop with the new legend seasonal

 

Morlands - Old Speckled Hen - ABV 5.2 %
Wonderful warm flavor bursting with body, Malt loar and toffee flavors, beautifully balanced sweetness.

 

Regenboog T'smisje - Special - Belgian- ABV 10.5%
A very special brew indeed, this Belgian strong ale is light amber in color.With hints of spice and of course the special ingredient, pumpkin!  Fresh pumpkin goes into every batch of T'smisje Pumpkin. 

 

Saison Dupont- Vieille Provision-Belgium - ABV 6.5%
Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

 

Starr Hill - Jomo Lager - ABV 5.0 %
Similar in color and flavor to a German Marzen or Oktoberfest. Subtle to nonexistent hop presence. Since the Vienna is cold aged the beer is exceptionally smooth and rounded. This is a malty, drinkable brew.

 

Starr Hill - Love Weiss- Virginia - ABV 5%
Now comfortable in their new brewery in Crozet, Va. Starr Hill is once again making their own delicious creations, the newest of which is this seasonal Heffe Weiss, LOVE. Hazy gold in its color with hints of Banana and clove this summer specialty is one of the best American Heffe's we at the CAH have tasted. Enjoy.

 

St.George - Spring Lager - Virginia - ABV 5%
The next beer in St. George's seasonal series.  Light, clean and refreshing.

 

Smuttynose - Old Brown Dog - New Hampshire - ABV 5.7%
Old Brown Dog is the typical example of an American Brown Ale. Very smooth and silky to the palate. Pairs well with spicy foods and dessert.

 

Tommy Knocker - Rye Porter - Colorado - ABV 6.2%
Dark and smooth. Roasted rye adds a subtle roasted flavor. Available on draft only.

 

Tommyknocker - Black Powder Stout - Colorado - ABV 6.3%
A rich, full-bodied oatmeal stout dispensed with nitrogen. A subtle roasted coffee flavor and aroma complements the smooth, slightly sweet finish

 

Wild Goose - Amber Ale - Maryland - ABV 5%
Classic English-style amber ale with a full, malty body and a robust hop flourish. Its rich copper color comes from British Crystal and Chocolate malts. The round maltiness is perfectly balanced with a spicy blend of Williamette, Hallertauer, Tettnang, and Cascade hops. (Great alternative for Fat Tire lovers.)

We are proud to offer over 300 selections of bottled beers. We had to pare this down from over 2000 possible selections! The end result is a list that is manageable and leaves room for the introduction of new, wonderful beers. 300 is just the right number to keep them fresh or age them to the peak of flavor.

 

SEASONAL & SPECIAL BREWS

Allagash - Victoria - Maine - ABV 9% - 25.4oz
To create Victoria Ale, the brewers drew on references to Bucchus, the Thracian god of wine, in the history and artwork of the Victoria Mansion as inspiration for this new beer. One hundred pounds of chardonnay grapes were brought in, crushed on site and added directly to the mash. With a focus on the subtle wine-like character of the grapes, the 9.0% ABV brew boasts a pale copper color, Belgian yeast influence and a medium body with a long finish.

 

Anderson Valley - Summer Solstice - ABV 5.6% - 12oz
This copper colored ale is a silky, creamy dream. It's malty, very mildly hopped, and lightly sweet, with a delicate hint of spice for that oh-so-drinkable, extra velvety flavor. A cool beer for the heat, whatever your latitude!

 

Harviestoun - Old Engine Oil Special Reserve - Scotland - ABV 6% - 12oz
An unusual name for an unusual beer! A superb, rich, full bodied beer which has been aged in single malt whiskey casks for six months. This allows the smooth chocolate flavors of the beer to mature and blend with the mellow, aromatic flavors of the whiskey. A classic combination!

 

Magic Hat - Batch 374 - Vermont - 12oz

This mysterious beer is the newest experiental brew by Magic Hat.   No one knows the ingredients, style or the

alcohol content.  Try to see if you can guess.

Classic English Brown Ale. This full bodied beer is brewed with caramel and roasted malts then hopped with Mount Hood and Tettnang hops.

 

Legend Brewing - Doppelbock - Richmond - ABV 7.7% - 22oz
Legend’s version of this strong German-style lager was brewed in December and lagered (aged) over six weeks before release. The extended lagering period gives this brew a smoothness that defies its hearty proportion of alcohol.

IPA is deep golden in color and not hopped as heavily as some other interpretations. This Legend cult classic has a full body and is very high in alcohol. It is hopped with Mt. Hood for balance.

German-style beer with clean, crisp taste, a light bitterness and a pleasant hop aroma, medium body and pale color, offering far more character and flavor than typical American lager-style products.

A wonderfully balanced pale ale. Golden amber in color with notes of citrus hops crisply rounding off the taste.

 

Legend Brewing - Pilsner - Richmond, VA - ABV 5.8% - 22oz
Brewed in the traditional style of the famous beers of Plzn, Czecholslovakia, with a characteristic full hop flavor and aroma, full body and deep yellow color.

 

Olde Richmond #4 Brown Ale-ABV 5%

Brewed according to a recipe from Colonial Virginia. batch #4 is a well balanced ale, deepbrown in color and has a roasted malt character. Thi finish is clean with a hint of walnuts.

 

Olde Richmond #11 IPA-ABV 7%

Using recipes from Colonial Virginia, brewers have recreated this hoppy IPA. Crisp and well balanced.

 

 

Starr Hill- Pale Ale-Charlottesville- ABV 7%

A pale ale that is characterized by its high hop bitterness and aroma. This beer is higher in alcohol in order to achieve balance with the body and bitterness.

 

 

St. George - American Brown Ale - Virginia - ABV 5.4% - 12oz
An American take on a classic English style.  This beer exhibits an assertive American hop character overlying a malty richness which lends it a slightly sweet, toasty flavor and aroma.  Drak brown in color with a thick head. 

 

St. George - IPA- Hampton, VA -   ABV 5% - 12oz
St. George India Pale Ale is a traditional English style ale with a distinct hop spiciness from imported 100% UK Fuggles hops. Deep copper in color, this IPA has a full malt base and a pronounced hop aroma.
