Cover Art + Mixed by Darien Victor Birks of Flwrpt

The Message
Just some real good tunes to vibe with the arrival of spring! I put this one together for parties, cookouts, riding music, etc. Not one of my typical mixes, it’s a bit different for me, but still pretty dope. This mix is made up of some r&b, soulful house, and hip-hop…included are tons of remixes, unreleased tracks, and some demo material. I really hope you all will enjoy…

Check out the sound!

Great mix. I think the Faith Evans song was actually done by Ali Shaheed Muhammad, not Dilla:

CTG, thanks for checking out the mix.

Great observation, actually, discogs credited Ali Shaheed, but it was actually an “UMMAH” remix, but as we all know, J Dilla did 75% of the UMMAH production but never really received his props, lol! So I decided to put Jay Dee, rather than UMMAH.

But the Ummah consisted of Jay Dee (J Dilla), Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammed.

Thanks for your comment!, thanks to everybody for the comments and support! Peace.

    Lovely Mix, Darien!

By the way, what’s the story behind “Slum Village – Happiness”? Was this a demo song?
