Secondhand Shabby Affiliate Info & Support

spacer

Spread the word about creative reuse, leverage your following and make money!  Recommend “Secondhand Shabby” (or future Fine Diving ebooks), and make 50% of each sale made through your link. For “Secondhand Shabby,” that’s around $5.50 after fees.

You don’t have to make, buy or store inventory.  It’s far simpler than that.  Just create some buzz on your blog about our Ebook, Secondhand Shabby, and earn major money for every order it generates.  You’re basically a reseller.

How does this work?

For those new to the concept, an affiliate program is a way to monetize your blog.  Generally, you put up a banner or box ad on your blog, or just tell your readers in a post with a text link. You earn a percentage of any sale made through your links.

There’s no threshold for participating.  Whether you have 10 readers or 100,000, you know your online community and the quality content they’re interested in.

Ready to sign up?

Just create an account with E-junkie, our shopping cart provider, and you’ll get special links to put on your website or in emails.  Join Fine Diving’s affiliate program on E-junkie now, or follow the step-by-step instructions in the screenshots below.  The links will identify you by an affiliate number built into the code, and the shopping cart will know to attribute the sale as coming from you.

We recommend you set up any ads and mentions on your site to link directly to the info page and shopping cart on Fine Diving’s website.  Even though the sales page isn’t on your site, e-junkie puts a cookie on the buyer’s computer and can track the sale.

If you want to do your own writeup and sales page, that’s awesome!  To do that, use one of the “buy now” buttons directly on your site with your writeup.  Instructions on how to do that are below.

Who should join the affiliate program?

If you have a related blog, website, or even just a newsletter, feel free to join the buzz.

  • Blogs about DIY decorating for the home
  • Cottage and shabby chic blogs, from large to tiny
  • Thrift and vintage stores — just put a link on your website, even if all you have on your page is the hours and location of your store.
  • How-to and DIY furniture sites
  • Home improvement related sites and blogs (HGTV type stuff)
  • Hobbies, home ec, and crafts, especially digital scrapbookers
  • Online shabby and cottage boutiques (so that the “makers” who visit your site for inspiration will have something to buy from you)

Here is exactly what to do. E-junkie can be a little confusing, so here are screenshots of every step so you can see if you’re in the right place.  (Hey, we do how-to books — what did you expect?)  You can click on the screenshots to see them full size.

1) Click on this link to get started:
Join Fine Diving’s affiliate program on E-junkie.

2) You should see a screen that looks like this. Fill out the “Register” section on the left. You should be sent an activation code by email.

3) Put in the activation code in the right place:

4) Enter your login email and password (not sure why they make you do this again, but that’s how it works…), and put in your name, PayPal email and website.
spacer

5) You should be taken to a screen where you can get your affiliate code. Click on the text link that says “Get Affiliate Code.” In case you didn’t get to the right screen, you can just click on “Affiliate Admin” on the top horizontal menu, once you log in.

6) Here is the next screen. Choose the “Get Affiliate Code” button. At this point, there’s only one thing in the drop down menu.

7) Ignore the common affiliate “hop link.” The link leads the front page for FineDivingChicago.com, not the info page for the book. Instead, choose the bottom button for “Product Specific Affiliate Links,” as in the screenshot below.

To link to the info page on Fine Diving, copy the text link in the first box.  The link has your affiliate number encoded in it, which is how E-junkie knows to credit the sale as coming from you. You can change the text from “Click here to view more details” to whatever you want — that’s just the default.

As we mentioned above, if you want to make your own review/sales page and link directly to the E-junkie shopping cart, you can do that, too.  To do that, copy the Direct Sale Button Code, which is the second text box.  This will create a “Buy Now” button at the end of your post.

spacer Reminder: When you copy and paste, make sure to use HTML mode if you’re using WordPress.

Next, use the E-junkie code to link with one of our banner or box ads.  We’ve created a variety of sizes, just choose the one that fits your blog and audience. Download the banner, then use your blogging platform to place the ad and link on your site.

Here’s an example affiliate link to the main info page on Fine Diving:

Instead of the text, “Click here to view more details,” you would paste the location of your banner or button inside an image tag.

We love interviews and a chance to chat with bloggers and their audience!  Drop Diana a line and we’ll arrange a time to talk about the book, DIY, thrifting, being part of a mother/daughter team, shabby chic and life in your corner of the world and ours.
