FAUX CRYSTAL KNOB TUTORIAL
Turning blah into bling…these were created for Project
Mom-Mom mainly because of being on a tight budget in connection to her kitchen
makeover. Wanting Crystal knobs after
actually seeing what they would cost, plus needing 14 of them, was way out of
the kitchen budget. So, this is what I came
up with and she loves it and the price was just right on budget, with some to
spare! (Hmmm… new lighting fixture?)
First clean up the knobs
I used a Styrofoam cone (it was the only thing I had on hand
at the time)
I would suggest if you are going to do more than one, use a flat
piece of Styrofoam to accommodate how many you plan on doing.
Poke the ends into the Styrofoam
By poking the screw ends or base of the knob into the Styrofoam
this will help stabilize the knob and keep the gem from sliding from center.
Once you have all your knobs in place, be sure to wipe the tops off again to remove any finger prints or particles from Styrofoam.
Apply adhesive to the knob (I used E600 and it worked well)
Place and center the gem on top of knob
Let dry.
BLING…you are done!
Easiest thing ever, for something so beautiful for a fraction of the cost!
