The undoubted shred king of British thrash, Ol Drake and the Huddersfield riff lords in Evile have had a superb year. New album Five Serpent's Teeth saw them kick on to all new heights and reaffirmed them as the world's number one new thrash band, with Ol setting frets on fire once more when they took the record out around the world at the end of 2011.
