Nicasio Latasa

Nicasio Latasa is the owner of BSI.  He has lived in Oceanside for most of his life, riding its consistent surf since a young age. His passion for the ocean and riding waves has carried him around the world.  Nicasio has surfed magnificent waves in Austrailia, New Zealand, Costa Rica, Bali, The Maldives, Mainland Mexico, and up and down the Baja Peninsula.  In 1998 he began instructing at a local surf school and instantly became enamored with the joy he received from helping aspiring surfers catch their first wave.

With a total of fourteen years of experience as a surf instructor, Nicasio possesses the knowledge, as well as the patience and understanding of how to have students riding waves in no time with elated smiles etched upon their faces.  In addition to being a surf instructor Nicasio is also the author of two books. Seasons Of Silence, a book of poetry, and Stumbling Upon Mowgli, his first novel released in June of 2010.  He currently lives in South Oceanside with his wife Nicole and their daughter Grace, who was born in March of 2010.

Currently a professional ASP certified judge working for SSS and WSA
