Our Mission  What Is A Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) or SANE? Forensic/Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (FNE or SANE) help victims by providing immediate, compassionate, culturally sensitive, and comprehensive forensic evaluation and treatment by trained, professional nurse experts.  Our Role: The Coordinator collaborates with the existing SANE/FNE nurses and SART programs across the state, and works with key stakeholders to develop new programs.  We also develop partnerships, called SART* Teams, between healthcare professionals and law enforcement officials, LEVAs, Solicitors and Solicitor Advocates, DSS officials, prosecutors and solicitor advocates, Victim/Witness Specialists and staff of domestic violence agencies and sexual assault centers, to improve delivery of services to victims of domestic violence/sexual assault. *SART: Sexual Assault Response Team
