Have you been so buffeted by the storms of life that you question whether undying love, truth, and eternal security are even possible? Can something pure truly exist in a world that you know to be unfaithful, deceptive, and threatening?
I want to introduce you to someone who can answer these questions for you. His name is Jesus Christ. Many years ago, He left a spectacular world of unimaginable beauty, peace, and perfection where His name was praised unceasingly to enter a world of ugliness, horror, and brokenness where He would be reviled and murdered. Jesus willingly made such a sacrifice because He knew that one day you were going to enter this world and you were going to need Him. He knew that you were going to be threatened by an enemy who would break your heart, lie to you, make you sick, separate you from those you love, and try everything in his power to destroy you.
This enemy is evil and supernaturally powerful; he is immeasurably stronger than you are. On your own, you would not stand a chance of surviving against him. God knew that your defeat was inevitable and so He sent Jesus from heaven to come and stand beside you. Jesus came to be with You and He is much greater than the enemy. In fact, with Him on your side, the victory is absolutely assured. You win!
That's great news! And there is only one thing required for you to realize the fulfillment of this promise: Accept the gift. See, even with Jesus standing near, unless you accept the salvation He offers, you are still fighting the battle alone. You are still going to lose.
To live in the security of His promise, you must admit you can never be enough on your own and acknowledge that you need Him. You must believe Jesus traded heaven for earth in order to rescue you from a relentless assault of evil. Jesus loves you so much that He was willing to suffer and die for you. Even today, after all the countless times you have rejected him, He loves you enough to continue calling you to come to Him. Even knowing all of the mistakes you have made and sins you have committed, He still reaches for your heart. Do you know anyone else who would remain so loyal to you?
When you make the choice to believe in Jesus, to repent of your sins and invite Him to live in your heart: You become His and He becomes yours forever! Everything changes. The world that previously seemed so menacing, becomes a land bursting with opportunity to share this amazing gift with others. The enemy that appeared so powerful in the past is transformed into a toothless dragon. The race to acquire influence and worldy treasures becomes insignificant when viewed in the light of eternal values. And the life that held only emptiness and hopelessness becomes infused with purpose and compassion.
Undying love, truth, and eternal security are possible! And not only possible but they form the very heart of the relationship Jesus wants to share with you. God created you to be with you; not to love you from afar. He wants to be in your face; up close and personal. This relationship is the very reason you are here. And by responding to His invitation, you will enter the most satisfying, enduring, supportive, and life changing relationship you could ever imagine. In fact, it is exactly the one for which your heart is longing. Jesus alone can satisfy the desires of your heart. Only He can fill that God-sized space and when He does the results are amazing!
