WET ‘N’ WILD PHOENIX ANNOUNCES THE OPENING OF WET ‘N’ WILD JR.
Kid-siderate waterpark is the first-of-its-kind in Arizona
Phoenix, Ariz. (March 8, 2012) – Arizona’s largest waterpark today announced the groundbreaking of its newest kid-tastic attraction area – Wet ‘n’ Wild Jr. – an all-new waterpark created especially for children and families. Wet‘n’ Wild Jr. tells kids “yes you can ride” with the introduction of three new slides: The Tiny Typhoon, the Screamin' Streamers and the Banzai Racers.
Opening Memorial Day weekend, this new, multi-million dollar expansion – the park’s largest since opening in July 2009, will feature kid-friendly versions of the park’s most popular attractions. The Tiny Typhoon allows kids to spin their way through a miniature funnel, the Screamin' Streamers is a fun and leisurely downhill river ride and the Banzai Racers gives children the opportunity to compete against their friends in side-by-side racing slides. Designed for the park’s youngest visitors, kids no longer need to watch their older siblings have all the fun. In addition to these three new kid-siderate slides, Wet ‘n’ Wild Jr. will feature splash zones, water hoops and squirt guns, where kids of all ages play 'n' spray their family and friends.
“Wet ‘n’ Wild Jr. provides a place for children to experience the adventure of our world-class slides in custom designed miniature versions,” said Scott Cooper, general manager of Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix. “With three new slides, a variety of other kids-only attractions and plenty of shaded seating for the parents, Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix is the first waterpark in Arizona to create an environment the entire family can enjoy.”
In addition to the park’s already unique amenities, the expansion makes Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix one of Arizona’s best entertainment options for the entire family. The park mixes a diverse array of experiences ranging from serene to extreme, including high-speed waterslide thrills and wide and calming rivers, creating a day of non-stop fun.
With a longer-than-average season, Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix will offer adventures for spring breakers in mid-March, and is also open select dates in April and May, with its regular season operating between Memorial Day weekend through September 9. Families can purchase season passes starting as low as $54.99 when purchasing four or more.
The park is located in North Phoenix just west of I-17 on Pinnacle Peak Road. For the most up-to-date operating schedule and hours visit: www.wetnwildphoenix.com or call 623.201.2000. Operating dates and times are subject to change.
