David McCall Foundation Youth Reliability Trial 17th March
Saturday 17th March – Youth Reliability Trial
This is a unique event for our Youth riders and is being promoted by the David McCall Cycling Foundation. It will start form Crumlin Community Centre with sign-on from 9.30 am
This event will take the form of 2 routes of 50 miles for the 15 & 16 age group and 40 miles for the 12 – 14 age group, riders and families will be welcome to sign on from 09.30 for the 2 start times of 10.00 and 10.05, both routes will be marked, marshalled and escorted by senior cyclists who will assist and advise the boys and girls throughout the event.… Read more

Clann Eireann Cup – Saturday 17th March
On St Patrick’s Day, Clann Eireann will be hosting the Clann Eireann Cup on the Derrymacash circuit. This event is open to A3 and A4 riders only and places are limited to sixty riders. The event is open for pre-entry and you can enter online by going to www.clanncc.net to register online.
With no A1′s or 2′s in the event it is an opportunity for A3 and A4 riders to amass points.
North Pole CC St Patrick’s Day Races – Saturday 17th March
Also on St Patrick’s Day, North Pole CC are hosting a series of races for A1′s – A4′s as well as the next round in the Time Square Jewellers God Cup Master’s Series.… Read more
Ras Loughgiel and Red Hand Trophy Open for Entry – Reminder Other Pre-entry Events
Red Hand Trophy Promoted by Ballymena Northstone Chain Reaction Cycles – Saturday 14th April 2012
The Red Hand Trophy is now open for pre-entry. The Red Hand Trophy is one of the oldest and most scenic road races on the calendar. It receives full PSNI motorbike outrider support and is known as a tough race.
It is an ideal training race for those contemplating participating in the May Bank Holiday, Tour of Ulster or the An Post Rás later in May.
The Red Hand Trophy is also the second round of the Slane Cycles Ulster Classic League sponsored by Slane Cycles, Cycling Ulster and the NICF.… Read more
Your Chance to see the Fleche Wallone
Gerard Heverin of Castlereagh CC is organising a trip to see the Fleche Wallone.in April. There are a limited number of places left if anyone is interested in going to see some of the big names in cycling.
Plan for the trip is as follows:
Tue April 17th flight from Dublin-Brussels @ 17.50, and collection by coach and leave to Charleroi hotel.
Wednesday April 18th – see sign-on in Charleroi and then get picked up by coach and leave to Huy where you will see the race three times up Murr de Huy.… Read more
Cyclists Gear up for Easter P&O Classic.
The countdown is on, with just under a month to go to Cycling`s showcase event, the P&O Ferries Tour of the North takes to the roads at Easter
Covering 4 stages, and just under 220 miles of racing over the Easter weekend, Friday 6th April will see 100 international riders assemble for the now traditional opening Time Trial stage in the grounds of Stormont Estate in Belfast .
Getting the event underway with a Climb, albeit a short 1.1km ascent of the Prince of Wales drive in Stormont, Stage 2 also sees 3 categorised climbs in the AA sponsored King of the Hills competition, with Saturday’s Rathfriland-based stage taking in the legendary Spelga Dam as well as the Santa’s cottage climb at Rostrevor before the sting in the tail finish back in the County Down town.… Read more

McCann Cup 2012 – Winners All Around
The McCann Cup Road Race celebrated its tenth anniversary today at the Halfway House in Seskinore and it couldn’t have been better. The weather stayed dry, there were good fields for all three afternoon races not to talk of the morning races featuring the best of the women and master’s riders.
Omagh Wheelers know how to welcome riders and their friends and this was obvious from the great turn-out of family members and spectators. It reminded me a bit of when I was younger and a Sunday afternoon was not spent in front of a television set but instead was a family day out, often to watch a sporting event.… Read more

Pink Winning Colour at Seskinore
The much anticipated McCann Cup took place today at Seskinore promoted by Omagh Wheelers. The first two events of the day were the Time Square Jewellers Gold Cup Master’s race and the SportActive Women’s Race.
In the short time lapse since the last Master’s event at the Phoenix GP, such is the interest in the team competition that some of the competitors had got themselves organised and were able to field full teams for the event. Banbridge who had to be content with a sole rider last year came well prepared with four strong men while North Down, Phoenix CC and North Pole CC were well represented.… Read more
Missing Wheel at Caldwell
Following yesterday’s race at Ballymena, a deep section wheel went missing in the confusion after the race. It is likely that someone has packed it into the boot of their car or van inadvertently while clearing up. Ballymena Road Club would be very grateful if everyone could check and if they come cross the wheel to contact them as soon as possible so they they can arrange the return of it to the owner.
