Eat Healthy

Every neighborhood in LA County deserves to have healthy options available. Eating wholesome foods and getting proper nutrition is essential in order to build and maintain a healthy lifestyle, and prevent obesity and other illness.

When healthy foods and beverages are made available to communities, eating right can be achieved by making small changes and smart choices. The 2010 U.S. Dietary Guidelines recommend filling half of your plate with fruits and vegetables, switching to fat-free or low-fat milk, drinking water instead of sugary drinks, and comparing sodium in foods like soup, bread and frozen meals to choose foods with the lowest amount of sodium.

A nutrient-rich, balanced diet can greatly improve your physical, mental and emotional health. The opportunity to eat right today will help you and your family have more energy to be more active, leading to a healthier lifestyle tomorrow.
