Join Start2Finish Event Management and the American Prostate Cancer Research Fund at the Desoto Civic Center on September 17, 2011 for the first ever Delta Ramble 5k and 1 mile family walk.
The goal of the Delta Ramble 5k is to raise funds and awareness of the APCRF. The mission of the American Prostate Cancer Research Fund is to promote awareness, encourage early detection and support, and improved treatment of prostate cancer in Mississippi. The APCRF believes that access to information and treatment should be available to all Mississippians.
Mississippi has the second highest prostate cancer rate and death rate from prostate cancer in the country according to the National Prostate Cancer Coalition.
More Mississippi men will get prostate cancer and die of it than the national average. This is due to the lack of cancer educations, screening and treatment, as well as personal or financial obstacles.
To address these problem, the APCRF works to educate Mississippians about the disease.
