We Benedictine Sisters of St. Walburg Monastery, faithful to our monastic profession, seek God in community, prayer and work.
We celebrate the presence of Jesus Christ and serve him in all God's people, the young and the old, the sick and the poor, the stranger and the guest.
Sister Carla Cook, OSB, died peacefully Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at St. Walburg Monastery at age 91. A Benedictine sister for over 68 years, Sr. Carla served as teacher, principal and spiritual director. Her half-sisters Patty Muehlenkamp, Mary Elizabeth Lampe and Ruth Kloenne preceded her in death. Sr Carla is survived by her brothers Robert of West Chester, Ohio and Charles of Baltimore, Maryland, nieces, nephews, many friends and her Benedictine community. Vigil service will be held at 7:00 pm, Sunday, March 11 and the Mass of Christian Burial at 5:20 pm, Monday, March 12 at St. Walburg Monastery.
