Overview

Box’s cloud content management capabilities make it easy to share and manage content online. Factual has created the definitive global database of local businesses and points of interest, offering access to 55 million entities in 50 countries through a singled unified API. We want you to create an application that allows users to associate content on Box with location records on Factual.

Challenge Requirements

Create an application that allows a user to:

1) Associate a file from Box with a Factual place ID.

2) Download files from Box that are associated with a Factual place ID when they are near that place.  

For example, a business could enable customers to download marketing collateral such as a 1-pager, promotional offer, or white paper when they arrive at the business.  Similarly, a doctor's office could enable customers to download forms that need to be completed when they arrive in the waiting room.

 

This will require two components:

1.     A web or mobile application that allows a user to select a location (via the Factual API) and a file (via the Box API), and associate the file with the location.

2.  A mobile application (Android, iOS, or mobile web) that allows a user to download a file when he reaches a certain location. Extra points if the application offers push notifications that let a user know when he reaches a location that has a file associated with it.

NOTE: you must first complete the Boxer badge challenge before your submission for this contest will be considered.

 

Submission Details

Please provide a video (preferably SWF, but other formats are acceptable) demonstrating both the web application and the mobile app.

Your submission will be judged by a panel of peers based upon this criteria.
