EXCESS CREDIT HOUR SURCHARGE

spacer

For students who started college in Fall 2009, Florida legislation requires that the university charge a 50% surcharge on all credit hours taken beyond 120% of the hours required for the baccalaureate degree. If you are in a degree program that requires 120 credit hours, it means that your tuition will increase by half the tuition rate (tuition fee + 50% surcharge) for each credit hour once you attempt more than 144 credit hours. This includes failed, withdrawn and repeated classes.

For students who started college in Fall 2011, the surcharge is 100% on all credit hours taken beyond 115% of the hours required for the baccalaureate degree. If you are in a degree program that requires 120 credit hours, it means that your tuition per credit hour will double (tuition fee + 100% surcharge) once you attempt more than 138 credit hours. This includes failed, withdrawn and repeated classes.
