Statement

Having grown up by the sea, my art is filled with the reflections of a great body of water which reveals itself as an emotional being in mood and temperament.

I also use boats to convey the experience of journeys across great expanses of space and time in the quest for truth.  I use many trees, which seem to me to be old souls, whose powerful spirits weather and bend with the winds of change.  Many of the images have subtle environmental shifts which are intended to make the viewer wonder about an environmental message.  Others are meant to encourage connection and interaction with the natural world, or with loved ones:  Families of trees resisting or flowing with the winds of change; Boats and landscapes that evoke a feeling of a journey; Animals and natural environments that have been impacted by environmental changes.

There is something of the spirit which can be conveyed through visual experience.  My work is the relation of my soul’s experience.  Truth and the soul’s beauty are my sources of inspiration.  It is my constant passion to better communicate the visions and feelings which stimulate and inspire me.  These, and the relationships dear to me, are the visual impressions which are the embodiment of my work.
