Happy Silver Anniversary
Manny,
I just realized that you have completed your 25th season as Principal Trumpet with the Minnesota Orchestra (and moved on to your 26th). I think a note of congratulations is in order! I was curious to see if anyone else had occupied this chair for 25 or more seasons, but I see that you win the distinction of keeping it warm for the longest! Years as Principal...........Player (Dates of Tenure) 25....................Manny Laureano (1981-Current) 15....................James Stamp (1929-1944) 12....................Stephen Chenette (1960-1972) 10....................Bernard Adelstein (1950-1960) 9.....................Charles Schlueter (1972-1981) 8.....................William A. Thieck (1912-1920) 6.....................James Greco (1944-1950) 6.....................Byron Morgan (1903-1909) 4.....................Henri Le Barbier (1920-21, 1923-26) 2.....................Karl Rissland (1927-1929) 2.....................Benjamin Klatzkin (1921-1923) 2.....................Albert Koehler (1909-1911) 1.....................Leland S. Barton (1926-1927) 1.....................Edward B. Llewellyn (1911-1912) Congratulations! Happy Silver Anniversary!

It would be nice to know why each of the other players left - Manny must be doing something (or everything) right!

Well Stamp went to LA and at that time the studio orchestras paid better, Schluter and Adelstein went to bigger orchestras (Boston and Cleveland) I know Greco was in the section longer then that. Chennette went into teaching I think

The Minnesota Orchestra is the big leagues. The orchestra is a world-class group.
Seems like yesterday hanging out with Larry Weeks, Kendall and you before the finals. Congratulations. Wilmer
