Overview

The NPIA and Home Office are holding two free symposiums in London on the future of police training and development. The first, which is unfortunately now full, will take place on 15th March 2012 between 12:30 and 16:15. **PLEASE NOTE THE VENUE HAS CHANGED to Bevin Hall, Local Government House, Smith Square, London SW1P 3HZ.

The second, will take place on 22nd March 2012 between 10:00 and 12:30 in London, and will accommodate all those who have been unable to secure a place for the first. This second event will cover the same programme as the first event on 15th March 2012. If you would like to attend the event please contact Sukhi Maan in the NPIA Strategy Unit by the 16th March 2012.

The event will bring together key suppliers across the police, private, higher education and further education sectors and is an opportunity to have an open conversation and debate about future direction and challenges in the provision of a more 'mixed economy' for police training and development.

The landscape for police training and development is radically changing as is its supporting architecture. This event also offers a chance to hear about current thinking and developments in the emerging policing landscape and views from the service about what policing needs from its new professional body.

Nick Gargan and Stephen Kershaw Director of Policing, Crime and Policing Group at the Home Office would like to invite senior representatives from the private and HE/FE sectors to attend and contribute to the debate. Please see attached letter of invitation.
