Sunday evening,we were happy to welcome 3 of our sisters from St. Walburga Abbey, Virginia Dale, CO.  Sisters Lioba and Sister Elizabeth brought Mother Maria Thomas to begin her sabbatical with us.  Mother had spent a few months at our monastery about 9 years ago and now she has returned to spend her sabbatical with us. We are overjoyed to have her.

This afternoon, after Vespers, Cathy Fortier made her final Oblation as an Oblate.  Several other Oblates attended the meeting and were there for Cathy’s final Oblation.  It is a simple but beautiful ceremony.

On February 26, the last Sunday of the month, the ladies of  St.Edmund’s parish had their annual Lenten retreat afternoon at San Benito Monastery.  They came around 12 o’clock for a pot luck dinner.  Each of the ladies brought either a hot dish, a salad or a dessert.  After the meal Fr. Jim Heiser gave them some input in the chapel. The ladies enjoyed the conferences by Father Jim and said that it was a wonderful way to begin the Holy Season of Lent.

Last night we decorated our Christmas Tree. It is very beautiful.  See for yourself.

We woke up this morning to a beautiful snowfall.  Winter is coming, now the sun is shining beautifully.

Today we begin singing the beautiful “O” Antiphons. Today is O Wisdom. This reminds us that we not far from the birth of our Blessed Savior. Blessings and peace to all.

We had a wonderful turn out for our Art Loop on Saturday.  The weather was very cold and some snow, but  it did not stop the people from coming. They also enjoyed the wagon ride.

Tomorrow, Saturday, is the Dayton Art Loop.  All the artist in Dayton participate in the Loop.  Hopefully, we will have good weather.  Tom Ogle will take customers from one store to another with his horse and buggy.  It should be great fun.
