“PAY ATTENTION!” bellowed my teacher. Her remark got me thinking (ha-ha-not-funny): what’s this mysterious ‘attenshen’? Some sort of new currency? And why should I have to pay a fine for daydreaming in class? Everywhere I go, everyone seems to be able to pay unlimited amounts of it, meeting even the high costs of school without flinching.

Ruskin Bond found his first book at a Shikari lodge in the middle of a forest. Good books have a way of turning up in the strangest places and some of my best reads have been randomly selected. Call it a scientific impossibility, but I always know whether a book is going to be good or bad once I have held it in my hand.
