1 pound bulk pork sausage
1 pound ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 (28 ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes, chopped, juice reserved
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
10 cups shredded cabbage
Step one - In a large kettle. Cook sausage, beef and onion. Drain excess fat.
Step two - Add in can tomatoes, can tomato paste, vinegar, chili powder, garlic powder an pepper flakes (optional). Mix all together well.
Step three - Stir in cabbage. Cover simmer for 15-20 minutes or until cabbage is tender.
Step four - Let sit for five minutes then serve
