Carmen Role for Soprano Claire

spacer Graduate Claire Watkins has just completed a tour of Scottish Opera’s latest production of Carmen.

Claire performed the role of Micaela in the production of Bizet’s boldy seductive opera, this time set in Franco’s 1960s Spain.

Claire graduated from the College's PgDip in 2004, then went on to study opera at the Royal Academy of Music. Equally at home on the concert platform and the operatic stage, Claire has performed with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales at St David’s Hall and has appeared at the Wigmore Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields and the Royal Albert Hall.

And another RWCMD graduate was also involved in the production. Elin Pritchard, who graduated in 2009, covered for Claire in the same role.
