Street Faire Highlights

Over 400 Vendors at Encinitas Festivities

Stretched along Coast Hwy 101 in Old Encinitas, the Encinitas Street Faire is one of the largest street festivals in San Diego County, with around 400 vendor booths, featuring arts and crafts, antiques, clothing, items from around the world, good food, live music, and much more. The white tent booths line up in two columns from D to J Streets. The faire includes children's rides, four live stages, and the Karl Strauss Brewery beer garden.

Fair Offers Plenty of Room, Pleasant Atmosphere

The Encinitas Street Faire has a pleasant atmosphere. While many people attend the faire, plenty of room is available along the route move about. People can walk there dogs, push their children's strollers, browse through the booths, without feeling crammed in a small space, thus making for a pleasant, easygoing atmosphere.

Also lending to the pleasant atmosphere is the laidback, yet lively downtown feeling, and lack of any nearby traffic, except at the ends of the route.

In addition, plenty of food vendors, restaurants and cafes are available to grab a tasty meal or snack.

Downtown Encinitas

While at the faire, you won't be able to help but notice the offbeat, trendy stores and restaurants, along Coast Hwy, that make up the Encinitas historic downtown, where you'll find several sidewalk cafes, restaurants, boutiques, new & used clothing stores, and specialty shops. Many of the buildings that house the shops and restaurants are from the early 20th century.

The Lumberyard, a collection of specialty stores and restaurants, and an outdoor plaza, is located at about the half way point of the faire, along Coast Hwy.

The Encinitas Seaside Bazaar will also be happening during the weekend. The bazaar takes place each weekend on a vacant lot on Coast Hwy, between D Street and Encinitas Blvd.

Displayed along the Coast Hwy on light posts are several banners, by local artists. You have the opportunity to purchase any of them at the Art's Alive Auction in mid-May.

The street faire is only a few blocks from Moonlight State Beach, a wide, sandy, family friendly beach, with a children's playground, restrooms and a pleasant atmosphere. A life guard is on duty everyday through the year.
