keep the western front out of jail

save us! ok, we're not actually going to jail, but we'll end up homeless if you dont help us.

incase you havent kept up to date with the trials and tribulations of the former jerkstore/texas ballroom, now western front, posse, this is the story:

back in february, during our party at the jerkstore, someone clogged the toilet which caused water to run into the blueline bar below. this caused the landlord to end our lease (we were on a month to month) and we had to move out by march 30th.

we found a new, bigger, better spot, hoping to continue the legacy of the jerkstore/texas ballroom in a new space. unfortunately, our old landlord wouldnt have it that way. liz armstrong interviewed us about the new space and put it in the reader, which we thought would be good free publicity for us. it was not to be. our old landlord got a hold of the article and sent it to our new landlord, who found out where we currently lived by hiring a private investigator to follow us and watch our building. our new landlord then called us into their office to let us know that they wanted us out in 2 weeks.

now if you know anything about tenants laws, thats completely illegal. we had not violated terms of the lease and they had no legal right to evict us.

we went ahead and had our grand opening of our space. which, if you were there, was busted by 8 squad cars, a paddy wagon, and 2 undercover cops. we had been set up by the old and current landlord and brendan was arrested.

ever since then our current landlord has been sending over goons to harass us. having people hiding in our elevator, climb onto our roof, buzzing our front buzzer for extended periods of time, coming into our space under false pretenses, the works.

finally, our landlord has decided to take us to court. johnny has been speaking to a tenants rights lawyer about defending us, but hes charging us one months rent. we only need half upfront, which is 1750, which we can afford, but paying the other half of the lawyers fee is beyond what any of us can afford. so we need you, our friend and acquaintences, anyone who has ever partied at the jerkstore, texas ballroom, house of love, or ever bbqed on our roof, to help us.
