Pre-visits by teachers are free of charge, but please contact us prior to arrival. We have carried out our own risk assessments for the museum and the field-trip sites. You are welcome to use these to aid your own risk assessment, but must take into account the ages and abilities of your pupils. |

Click here to return to the menu Word SearchesTIPS for school teachers.
The following Word Searches are all associated with the teaching of Earth Sciences, and have been produced by Dinosaur Isle. The Bones and Elements searches are probably the most relevant. They could be used to supplement coursework or homework. The Bones search could be used in Biology GCSE classes, and the Elements search could be used in both Physics and Chemistry GCSE.
For Word Searches 1 to 5 you may wish to simply download and use the search without alteration. Should you need to make them more difficult then you may wish to provide the search without the list of words, with a list of initial letters only, or you may wish to supply the list with an extra (unused) word and ask pupils to identify the word that does not appear in the grid.
For Word Search 6 you could choose not to supply the additional page. This search will reinforce learning concerned with the Periodic Table.
All of the searches have been tested on pupils, staff and visitors to the museum, and have proven addictive. The Elements search has been completed by a bright ten year old. You may wish to print them on different colour paper before issuing them. |
