WHO WE ARE
The Holy Innocents Centre was established as a response to the plight of the many children victims of the Mozambican Civil War. There was a need for a facility to shelter and protect them and endeavour to reunite them with their original families, all war refugees. The Centre was conceived in 1993, in the Manga neighbourhood, in the vicinity of the city of Beira, the second largest city in Mozambique. Today, the Centre houses around 160 orphaned children and youths, between the ages of 8 months and 19 years. It also offers the local community about 1300 places in its Government recognised Primary and Secondary schools.
