The Play (October 2011)
A web-based Interactive Fiction Competition game in which you are the director of a play destined for abject failure, who must deal with sexism, privilege, and finishing one run-through of the dress rehearsal without anything horrible happening. It won third place overall, and second in the Miss Congeniality Contest. Yay!

Life Flashes By (November 2010)
Charlotte Barclay, a novelist of moderate success, one day finds herself in a car accident while on her way to the next leg of her book tour. She then wakes up in the hazy world of her own memories and, accompanied by an impish pixie-like creature called Trevin, finds herself whisked away on a whirlwind journey to relive various vignettes of her life so far. In doing so, Charlotte attempts to make sense of who she is and who she’s become, as well as who she could have been had she done things differently.

The Little Girl Nobody Liked (June 2009)
Another cute widdle Flash gamelet. This time, it’s a brief meditation on the subject of individuality versus conformity, packaged as an interactive children’s book and spiced up with voiceover narration and cheerful background music.

BLEARGH: A Holiday Greeting (December 2008)
A very short Flash gamelet, basically consisting of a holiday-themed conversation between a pair of disembodied heads: one who complains about rampant commercialism, and one who’s annoyingly cheerful about it. ‘Tis the season to buy a Whatchamajig 3000!

Des Rêves Élastiques Avec Mille Insectes Nommés Georges, or DREAMING for short (June 2008)
In late March of 2008, I put out a call for submissions asking friends to send me background images and character sprites, which I would then tie together into a single game. The finished product, starring yours truly as the main character, is a series of interactive conversational vignettes appearing in a randomly-generated order each playthrough, evoking the feeling of a bizarre dream sequence. Oh, and since people tend to get confused, yes, this game is in English; the gratuitous French in the title is only there for faux-pretentiousness’s sake.

Pigeons in the Park (November 2007)
A game consisting entirely of a single conversation between two characters, both of whom represent two different, often contradictory parts of who I am. The conversation touches upon love, loneliness, social awkwardness, and the meta-subject of storytelling in games, but has very little to do with pigeons.

Chivalry is Not Dead (October 2007)
A “bushy” fantasy adventure in which you play a horribly disfigured creature named Phlegmwad, employed as an assassin for the evil Lord Horrible and tasked with killing the good Queen of Everything? Or is it the good Lord Horrible and the evil Queen of Everything? Who knows? One of my more ambitious interactive storytelling experiments, Chivalry involves many problems with multiple solutions, and characters whose attitudes towards the player change depending on their previous actions. I wrote a lengthy series of articles for Adventure Gamers about the making of this game, which can be found here:

When We Were Kids (February 2007)
Morgan Kaczynski has been making your life a living hell for as long as you can remember, and today, she’s stolen your beloved handheld gaming system. Will you bribe, negotiate, threaten, or tattle on her to get it back? The choice is yours.

Facetious Nonsense (November 2006)
A browser-based Choose-Your-Own-Adventure story which has you moving through various locations and interacting with various people in a surreal, dreamlike way. This is the first in a series of very short, experimental projects I started writing after the realisation that I took far too much time than I wanted to finally get around to finishing my last game.

The Game That Takes Place on a Cruise Ship (March 2006)
This is a game I worked on for a number of years, which has you exploring a rather colourful cruise ship through the eyes of Gertrude Zzyrgenhymer, a young blue-haired woman with a degree in rhymatology. It has four different branching story paths depending on which situations Gert gets herself into. I’d say it’s probably the longest and most convoluted game I’ve written to date.

The Interview (December 2003)
Gert Zzyrgenhymer interviews for a position as the protagonist in the aforementioned Game That Takes Place on a Cruise Ship by being thrust into a room she can only escape by finding new clothes for an uncomfortably cross-dressed Big Bad Woolf.

Cubert Badbone, P.I. (August 2002)
My first finished game ever, written at the tender age of sixteen. It follows the adventure of a tentacle-tastic private investigator from outer space as he attempts to unravel the mystery of his home planet’s disappearing human tourists, with the help of his Carmen Miranda-esque secretary and a cast of equally flamboyant supporting characters. I still occasionally get fan mail about it to this day.
