Emergency School Closings
When weather conditions become severe after students are already in school, it may become necessary to close school earlier than regular dismissal time. In this event, area television and radio stations will be notified to inform parents. Staff and students will be notified on the public announcement system. The information will also be posted on the North Syracuse Central School District main website at www.nscsd.org under a "Snow Day" or "Special Announcement" link.
If school is dismissed early or closed, all after-school activities, events and programs are usually cancelled. Listen to WSYR (570) AM), Y94 (94 FM), and WHEN (620 AM) or watch one of the following television stations: WSTM-Channel 3, WTVH-Channel 5, WSYR-Channel 9 or Channel 10. These stations are the first to be notified of any early dismissal.
Please be sure to complete your child’s Emergency Form and update it when necessary. Your child and the school must know where your child should go in the event of an early dismissal.
In the case of an emergency where students are evacuated to a different location, the telephone numbers for the Main Office and the Health Office of the school will be transferred to the Administrative Offices where the information will be provided to parents.
