Best in Show: Regatta by Helga Winter

Our March Show, “Spirit of Place”, is a juried show which includes all media. Teresa Verraes serves as juror. Due to space constraints, she selected fewer than 80 (fabulous) entries from over 215 pieces submitted by 76 local artists.

Teresa’s lecture will be on Sunday, March 11th at 2:00.

The Opening Reception is Saturday, March 3, from 5:30 – 8pm in conjunction with Port Townsend Art Walk.

A little spot of earth, a sense of being, or a little corner of your life can all evoke images of place. The spirit of place refers to the unique, often times mysterious, invisible aspects of a place that is celebrated in memories, stories, art, or histories.  Our theme this month was chosen in conjunction with the Port Townsend Library Community Read.

On Wednesday March 21, at 3:00pm, there will be a Community Read book discussion at Northwind Arts Center: you are invited to share in discussion of the book Winterkill by Craig Lesley. Check with the library for a copy of the book.

Thank you to all artists who responded to our call for Spirit of Place: we appreciate all of the art submitted! It was wonderful for Northwind to get this excellent response, and for us to see the high quality and variety of the art work, whether selected for this show or not!
