Location / Context

The City of Albuquerque and the Downtown Albuquerque Arts & Cultural District invite artists and craftspeople from the Greater Albuquerque area to participate in the upcoming Centennial Summerfest 100 for 100: Statewide Juried Arts & Crafts Market.

spacer Albuquerque's Centennial Summerfest is a day-long event with 5 pavilions featuring an amazing array of New Mexico musicians, a contemporary/traditional arts festival, a territorial village, children's activities, a car show and much more.  The event is part of Savor Albuquerque: Arts, Culture and Cuisine – a ten-day festival that culminates this year with the Centennial Summerfest.

100 for 100: Statewide Juried Arts & Crafts Market will showcase 100 artists from the statewide network of Arts & Cultural Districts; 50 of those artists will be from Albuquerque. A panel of judges from around the state will award prizes for presentation and content, including Best in Show.

The market will take place in Downtown Albuquerque on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 12:00 – 6:00p.

100 for 100: Statewide Juried Arts & Crafts Market

Artists must provide the following:

  • Application, submitted to Creative Albuquerque (see instructions, below)
  • $25 non-refundable application fee

Selected Artists must provide the following:

  • $75 non-refundable booth fee, payable by April 1, 2012 to the City of Albuquerque
  • Booth set up on the morning of June 16, 2012
  • Booth staff from 12:00 – 6:00p on June 16
  • Payment method(s) for customers at the market; each artist will accept and retain 100% of payment(s) for any works sold

The 100 for 100 Market will provide:

  • One 10'x10' outdoor, covered space to each selected artist
  • An outdoor public market area with access to nearby parking for the artists
  • AC power to artists who make prior request
  • Statewide panel of judges, who will award prizes for presentation and content, including Best in Show

Eligibility

Artists and craftspeople (18 and older) from the Greater Albuquerque are eligible to participate in the Downtown Albuquerque Arts & Cultural District area at Centennial Summerfest’s 100 for 100: Statewide Juried Arts & Crafts Market. 50 artists / craftspeople will be selected to represent Albuquerque in the market.

Artists and craftspeople from the other state-designated Arts & Cultural Districts -- Las Vegas, Los Alamos, Raton, Silver City, Taos -- should contact their local A&CD Managers.

Applications

Creative Albuquerque (www.creativeabq.org), managing the application process, will accept applications from February 3 to March 2, 2012.
 
Submissions must be received by 4:00p on Friday, March 2, 2012 at info (at) creativeabq (dot) org and must contain all of the following:
  • Artist Resume and / or CV including Name, Phone and Albuquerque Permanent Address
  • Proposed layout / floorplan for your 10 X10’ booth, including whether you will need electricity
  • 5 digital images of 5 different art / craft works thataccurately represent the work you will sell at the time of the market
  • Proof of payment for the non-refundable $25 application fee, paid to Creative Albuquerque via PayPal

All materials should be submitted in electronic format. Please use a standard Wordor PDFformat for all written documents. All images, drawings and diagrams should be submitted in astandard JPGor PDFformat (no larger than 8x 10at 300 DPI). Email submissions shouldnot exceed 12 MB. If you send multiple emails to accommodate your submission, please labelthem in the subject area of your email with your last name and the sequence. (Example: Smith 1of 3)
